Career Edge Organization is currently looking for help to fill a great internship opportunity for a Letter of Credit Officer with Scotiabank located in Calgary.

' u  Y) A8 R9 _  [' x' K% B•        Several years of practical experience in Trade Finance activities
$ I7 _0 x, Z) ]( v+ o! X7 f
•        Thorough and complete knowledge of the Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits, the Bills of Exchange Act, INCOTERMS, world shipping practices, and Canadian / Foreign customs

) g8 `2 \! X. W( U: G•        Strong knowledge of statutory requirements, International Law and Customs relating to Letters of Credit and Bank policy as high level transactional support to customers is required

9 ?3 k1 d( s2 }$ g" `4 t•        Capable of applying knowledge in accurately assessing / mitigating transaction and compliance risks and making judgemental decisions on problem transactions

•        Possess an ability to evaluate high risk, complex transactions and make recommendations to the Senior Assistant Manager to minimize and or mitigate potential losses to the Bank and its customers.

•        have the equivalent of a Canadian bachelor’s degree and a completed education credential assessment
•        have at least 3 years of international work experience in their field
•        have little or no career related Canadian work experience
•        have been in Canada for less than 3 years
