Anni Yu is thirteen years old. She began her violin study at the age of eight. Her current violin teacher is Tom Johnson. Anni received the Siludette O'Connor Memorial Foundation Award in 2009, and she has achieved numerous first places and scholarships in Edmonton Kiwanis Music Festival violin competitions. Anni had her violin concerto solo orchestral debut with the Concordia Symphony Orchestra in 2010. She was also a violin soloist in the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra’s Musicians in the Making Program. Anni has also performed in various concerts in Edmonton. This spring, Anni was selected to represent Edmonton to compete in the 16 years and under violin solo category in the Alberta Provincial Music Festival.
