Job Purpose:
! W# r& {+ L i( HTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. ) Q7 n) m5 A. l0 m; ?; o8 l$ {; Z

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)3 d2 i* s5 z$ F
, P7 r: X6 |* k3 bAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
4 t6 M; y* L$ B+ P• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
6 d0 s5 O/ r# [' l• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;0 f2 g) v& d' z9 B4 ~- Y ?7 R
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;! \" ~! ]$ r" S# f0 ~
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; : {* d" M, \( _& x ? B
• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
: g6 a7 d4 [7 `5 O8 r• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;5 Z7 w; G' {% F+ m; R
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
3 h) i3 N4 B R- D, q• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required; J$ n: l: o0 h8 C1 ?! A: w0 h
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
6 Z- J: b' E7 H3 r• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
2 q' m# @# a) Q4 x• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
" v) W( D2 ~+ B9 W• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
3 D t6 w: f* l7 h• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

D% u5 N4 T7 v7 X• Degree in communications, human services or related field;( i) ^9 K: w* I7 @0 G
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;: ?+ l5 p& k& w5 i
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
# n/ P' x g$ a% M" ]( L& V• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
) Y5 y7 ?. F" z: J8 A) M; S2 d5 Q4 L• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.; E* Q* r, ?6 d
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
) k5 B- U% y7 j( v$ d3 D& X• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;& ~3 T5 ~$ d) [0 n' F7 T0 U
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
! b. K9 a7 t" l! G0 Q• Current valid drivers license;* j* g. ^' w4 e+ N/ ^' [3 G' U
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;' l# ^& {" h4 W# A) ?3 [ W
• Conflict resolution skills;
# w1 L, f4 D; S• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
