Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project. b! \& T5 |: f4 ?  d

Job Purpose:
* j' R; e+ X" L% ~# i; A7 h1 P! \To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

) q# w( C/ D( O5 h3 u. D* c6 o& EThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
2 @- h! Y" r+ |! a1 q! S•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;" |8 g  {! U( h9 G
•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
  K. x9 q! U+ d" I( g; d1 G•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;, v. O7 U# W* L% b$ p8 }; A% G
•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
- u8 I, U- f0 D  E1 K2 o( K1 Z* O•        Risk Management and succession planning;" f1 t! {, \$ T0 Y4 ?

2 B6 g$ a% ?' xProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:  + r  a1 o, r7 n# y0 ~6 I
•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;9 J! E0 }6 ~' v0 i. R8 t; }
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;" f% X# N3 X  h8 ~
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
; g/ T; Z9 P" Q0 ^4 X4 ?+ C# L+ v•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities" |% D, o' f# r3 U: q5 i1 g& @, s
•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;9 j# Q# l2 V2 x3 G: v! x* V+ T& |
•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;7 n& e& l0 h1 G/ U4 |
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;7 H+ [9 i2 H) j1 E) E
•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

' Z, {# L% r" s* F* U/ LQualifications:$ L& `, M" _1 T- d
•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
) e( @6 E# N1 a. |% o•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
' q# c: U7 s" U1 _0 x, {& h3 S•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
, ?2 f8 A2 I. }' d% Q3 k•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
6 U% B; N) @& Z9 j2 o•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
8 J/ t0 v  L% |' ~7 \•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;. d. t' l/ L* F! e: H  j- \. e
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;9 p1 E* i8 |; e$ B
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
# O. U5 b/ W: X/ q•        Current valid drivers license;
2 j9 [' d- ]+ ?•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;' z& U3 c/ @% p; @1 F
•        Conflict resolution skills;
8 v# N  w( ]- ~•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
9 S' p5 b6 ^8 P2 P3 n9 D, y# g& p) a•        Committed and passionate about children;2 C  a7 D/ B- g# a
