Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

( a, Z' j1 Y. L5 l5 T( f# ]This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

; f0 v. X) V3 ^9 @! }2 k# S/ uAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
) J3 S) A3 p! I4 g# q0 P( q" ]. [•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
( k0 E  v0 |: j% d$ q•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
$ ?9 o0 V8 ?, Q( E2 w+ R- n2 ]•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
•        Risk Management and succession planning;

, `: G5 k/ B% a& \- Z! {Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  
•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
) \* Y7 y( m, N# v1 V$ L3 w7 U5 C•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
. Q) A( \/ o: K# e1 `•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
) f' ]1 G* g! k5 H•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
5 y- D2 M3 p; P6 o) a+ J9 I: t' Z•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
8 l2 S/ U# F7 w( c4 S- K•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
•        Current valid drivers license;

. ?3 p5 Q  A- q•        Conflict resolution skills;
•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
•        Committed and passionate about children;


Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
