Key Responsibilities

- provide volunteers to update membership database% C7 I8 i1 U9 b$ u; U
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers% V' _( \" v( c
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
- }* {1 N+ I( w3 g0 e) x- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
2 v" C( C4 u; e0 v- provide volunteers for various programs
4 D% q5 A# n$ K1 _: J: F2 v0 q- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual: w! ~3 j V! r1 D2 I' w \+ _
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
8 n, A Q% ~ i& q- v8 A+ T- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
]3 o# _9 c( o8 S( @6 _- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services+ T( l+ _& H1 z$ A# e7 o6 X9 z. R
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
Q7 H n! y- s9 ^5 L X+ T- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
. W9 l6 ^- K$ B, o- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
+ V Z' m# F4 u# ?! }0 q# H6 r- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
, M5 {7 B( f4 w! Y- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
S' N; R7 Z w2 i- w% }" u- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 1 J' y" f- o: T; U# w9 p
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers # k0 ?) w, p* u* _; \
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers & I2 {9 z6 ?0 k
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
) {, T# C. c# N3 R5 d0 G( T- evaluations
9 j/ j1 m* F& l0 C3 c- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

/ h" j8 s: o" u& V& E- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education$ \2 V$ L( B% _7 r1 ^
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
) k' y, P- ^) {- \6 R" O- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services. c: x& I" S, `6 P; u+ ~
- leadership skills
4 Y+ t( v: e+ w$ }3 S) f- management and supervision skills
4 H1 r- Q! j6 U; r+ W5 c$ g2 \; F- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
