Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
* [% b7 w" ]9 p2 k- submit information for community news - T, k$ C+ j9 i6 L- h
- provide volunteers to update membership database
0 y% _) ?; q) T( k- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
7 a' C* I( Z/ A9 J- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
! n* F& C4 v2 u$ e0 ~8 v- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties4 f: e1 m& W1 O4 `/ f
- provide volunteers for various programs
) ?8 Q6 }6 p* t- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual: E/ a0 J% R. @ _6 n& `6 ~ `
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation X. ]5 d1 g0 ?4 Q- X7 {
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities# x; k; B" [8 S) \1 k l1 o0 I
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
" I4 J) A) F2 u& ~+ d, F5 F4 f- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
+ y! f$ F5 K8 h- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed$ }/ ?/ e( F% Q9 O/ ]
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
/ w5 d) m" ` r, J- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)! K2 z/ H- {" j w4 g; O
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
. S' H/ l( E7 ^6 f3 G9 `* k- development and distribution of a volunteer manual / a+ f8 |. e: s1 h" w2 n7 B U
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
$ ^; f, w0 J8 W+ C- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
8 A( S& q n5 A- [8 g' c- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis $ u6 W+ C: ~# k+ J' s k" F' u

Qualifications
( L5 z- r$ S- ^( N8 H+ q' @- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education) B+ `. o2 n6 O$ U$ P2 L( t: C4 U
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills3 y+ P4 r( x( {: x: ]! l* w
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
