Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
0 w J- [ K/ |4 o6 b- submit information for community news
: K- K4 V. W7 P+ ?7 \- provide volunteers to update membership database
+ j% _6 G" z# n- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
b& y9 c3 n; W; s( j, w! k- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
- M; M5 b a* X3 i. b" I- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties/ }" p6 q/ R3 N7 U; p
- provide volunteers for various programs
4 p; Q9 M6 h6 k7 p( x( q- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual4 \0 [" a1 o* g
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
8 K/ A. T/ h/ i- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
# A- W& {( u4 e3 w( b7 I; Z- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
) }8 m8 Y2 v9 s, J- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
* `' m; b/ Q/ l/ {; g8 k% l( @: f- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
; }& [6 q. ~& _: F7 ]- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed1 |' H$ y4 p/ s( ~, H
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
S6 N) _! C2 w4 m+ \- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 5 u) w$ l5 \" E# G& ?2 ^2 C
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 5 y' e! ~1 S( e9 o) k
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers - P3 k/ k3 Y( @
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers % H5 d% Z! d* }* M! [, C: F
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

. t, e( }% [! sQualifications
1 e, B. m# p; ~4 w- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
" {: g6 e. Z- b- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
3 |" y7 i# G! D# I( z- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services0 r. m6 t7 C4 Z7 A4 c; B( S3 u
- leadership skills% |2 }8 [# i; M
- management and supervision skills
