Key Responsibilities

- provide volunteers to update membership database* y) X# m9 z+ w; d
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers5 w8 o# T) E; S7 A
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
- R7 N5 J* y* o" P- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
y: t8 a# ]& ~( B' n- provide volunteers for various programs
- n! x- e& o% t |- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual9 {( v$ `9 ]/ S* L9 y9 t& h
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation1 F: n% q! ]6 f
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities: p! ]+ _% o& o% ?+ X
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services# x A; D5 j4 {& ?5 Q) C
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports- t% J' _- c- X; X; N
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed4 h/ E: ~5 B3 G9 T* i; d d
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed" c9 N; g: D. V% N P8 g
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)3 T4 G1 L; S8 I% b! J
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
1 r% w# l6 m/ ]- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
/ I# \8 \( `9 ?/ q; _9 V- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
* ?( n" O4 \. B, i0 T4 ]1 e- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 4 ]$ L1 K& T( G) y+ k5 @
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

Qualifications' U% }) D7 S% C( T1 I1 ~
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education4 Y5 X5 c% J& J- |: S
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
9 w5 _7 q- N$ y d4 w2 Z: V" Q- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services

- management and supervision skills
