Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:5 D$ d) B& T- [) E: d; S
• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person$ s( B0 \4 N) z
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
+ k9 h% [3 v z& u• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
6 \; C8 M7 }: F: E• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
4 {' ^" Q& c9 }: x# @• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
% q8 i1 ]% f- g, p8 L• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker- F; s) {9 m5 |5 ?/ z
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events( `7 c8 u5 A; V; F
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
7 R$ i% |9 `7 r• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
- X, T9 m0 H6 ]4 d9 G, r- e( S• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters; u+ K; y( T. S1 {; t
• Maintain front counter service files+ a; ?0 g( b: R* s7 y
• Perform general office duties as assigned

8 m4 P/ O/ B, B. `- ]' L+ sKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:8 E( K4 M( i, l3 @/ p, g1 t' t1 l* v( K
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
" g) U ^) |3 }5 q( w• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset; R8 t7 u/ t3 N
• Good English writing and oral communication skills

• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook, l0 o. A1 p4 x. r* X
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
! n) p: D6 `4 ~1 N! O• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds: K- X# o4 O# C
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment! T% I+ A# y9 `3 h8 [% P! m
• Knowledge of immigrant services

Qualifications:% r, `: e* \7 A( x* p9 d) r, p1 E+ G
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
' b1 j' Y4 Y; S) T3 ?• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
' G) H) N$ F) e2 q! [6 Q3 V6 p8 k/ F7 k+ U• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
) k* ]$ v$ w3 [8 T% q; V3 L; X• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
