Hours of Work: Part-time (21 hours per week)

Position Summary:
: v# f. N4 S* M9 A- ^Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:
( E/ _/ J9 H( k5 Z& b• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person$ a$ V ? I9 u$ s6 i
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST9 N3 `" m9 i8 r* ]% i0 j& l9 P
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
& L& S9 w( U$ _' h• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
: U2 ^5 @ v8 O# p& h3 n- o B• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents+ j9 [! ]% h) W# q' V
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker6 T1 N9 A* S, j) G ]' j
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
/ W! i1 z% W' N5 H1 F/ p• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events

• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters# ~% A: |6 a! K3 A
• Maintain front counter service files# X% a: K7 @3 A0 j7 {
• Perform general office duties as assigned* G W+ y; \, O. a1 g i* l8 |7 @8 N' Y4 I
• Report to ISP Program Manager

• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person8 H# ]1 D' `4 ~* _" O3 i
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
& Y1 o" Z; j) |. P9 _6 |* B• Good English writing and oral communication skills, s! f/ J( ]5 W0 E# E, X
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
# A# V) B" S: z: H• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook+ u ~, W6 H' q
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately 4 a5 z/ s# ?: j3 Q1 t* S* L
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds! p$ L. J& @, P# U" f# L3 F
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment# f" T; F7 Y7 q1 ]! N8 v# ]' R
• Knowledge of immigrant services5 O! d4 r3 X8 M% f9 ~

Qualifications:7 {8 S, ?, g: \; B$ _
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience " o5 ?; i: h, G4 @, K% ~; T- f1 o5 j
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment: V0 G; [- s/ ~) n) R$ S$ L
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
3 r( G' g* {. a* |7 C _• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
