Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Position Summary:
$ S, ^- H( l% o! Z; q0 O* NWithin the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:
" ]7 s2 W8 v* d9 a; D• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person5 I, l: v) K5 S$ i7 A
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST" [2 b4 v& {! S& _( H3 R5 z3 U
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately# o+ g! e% E4 G# l) o
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
+ F) V- g D8 V7 N3 S• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents& O* g7 u- R6 M" d: L o
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
/ M* h# Q- N0 @, ]& u* _• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events( V9 P- Q4 F5 ~1 n/ A+ Y1 ?
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events% L" r( P1 @% X; X
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
) Z% ]0 E$ I: |& h1 G& F2 h5 r• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters/ y" Y' X1 h- S+ h' a. x
• Maintain front counter service files- _; O) [ Q7 l8 d' I) L. E/ e
• Perform general office duties as assigned Y0 Y" r6 _3 d2 N4 I- Z {) ^

- ?* F% `. e8 k. ]3 V0 kKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
l! |9 V! y# T- H- a2 T; @• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person& _! i% F$ i+ Z6 J8 e+ N
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
7 s9 N0 k+ S- h2 R• Good English writing and oral communication skills/ E" x- J" _' k8 R; [+ }
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
" m/ P: Z7 i8 U" O( P• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook

• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds* N9 S( i% U5 V6 b* K8 O

• Knowledge of immigrant services4 N' C$ T( I' D/ U* Z5 c4 ~2 ?' g1 {

• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience * }; d/ Z/ {0 _* ]
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment2 |' f9 s' f. R( [' a( \, a
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
