without having to think about much else. In years past, wedding photography

When I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,8 a% d# r* C9 D+ W' w" F

the look of a medium-format camera, but gives me the feel and response of a

Autofocus quickly tracks models in motion. Nikon’s 91K-pixel RGB sensor
, p8 E& m' ]7 Vhas noticeable improvements in metering accuracy, while the larger LCD is' o8 _# b. t, |: ~# j3 N
easier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while. j6 d& [& h7 F3 ~; ^8 t
also feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New
' k7 l4 M' o$ |- m# X& \9 V' _$ Fcameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features7 }6 K& h% ?0 D: d+ w
in such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality* ?+ _* X/ l3 e; F8 ]4 W4 t

To me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is, @* m$ D" B. V) u7 j
not megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models+ C2 h) Z1 N9 E6 X) {
are important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using( |0 |/ d5 N3 W. ?# S9 B
countless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first6 V# P& _# U# p$ [4 e3 [
sight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws! z/ B% ~8 T% J: s0 b0 i
like never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of
& `: e! F9 z' g! N! b' Cacuity between aperture choices on various lenses were apparent. But now I. Q8 E$ c, x6 b/ F6 B) f
am enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as2 l _ k# i4 U& a0 P# p
though they were made with a 4x5 view camera! Special features like timelapse2 Y/ `6 P/ h1 U1 W; A- ^
photography and the improved HD video quality and flexibility also add
4 p A. `* f+ n% \4 vtremendously to the camera’s personality. After spending a month with the/ F1 J" R, A2 Z9 N. u9 q g
D800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express. x6 R8 B5 t* k! o' [

As a modern architectural photographer I am always looking for a lightweight,1 X( b2 W* z' U
