0 R# N( o) g0 e8 ]1 x( AWhen I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,

range, color rendering and the final print. The detail from the D800 produces+ d; j# j& E8 N3 Z) F5 r
the look of a medium-format camera, but gives me the feel and response of a

well as fabric and hair detail are superior to anything that has come before.

has noticeable improvements in metering accuracy, while the larger LCD is
" O' p: M4 Y4 ^3 `: reasier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while$ w& K2 c) C2 I( [, i
also feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New; e6 _7 g- ~- m6 Z
cameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features0 M' i# X+ _ |
in such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality1 F0 o$ A2 }% `# ~
prints and video.# j/ Z3 F% r/ ?/ |8 c# F, L9 i/ L
To me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is0 K0 V" w9 n7 j! m2 s
not megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models
6 Q0 n) j! z6 i# j% Sare important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using; x( v, N1 @5 S% H
countless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first4 K5 _7 _3 }. u' @
sight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws
' ^9 h5 v& q1 S) Wlike never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of! V7 p& `% u5 W( t6 h# X
acuity between aperture choices on various lenses were apparent. But now I; K: N* H% \$ A7 j# f* p- p
am enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as6 B' M- U2 ] L5 P
though they were made with a 4x5 view camera! Special features like timelapse
& s( G6 P h& U5 Gphotography and the improved HD video quality and flexibility also add
/ O. L$ ]' g* D' w9 V! ktremendously to the camera’s personality. After spending a month with the
8 @; t4 {8 C0 ~+ V/ n. B6 I8 eD800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express. D! r4 u& C5 W( g/ A# B1 _4 x, s
is that now I will think differently about the images I make.
" j* @8 k, O, F" }. A7 }0 ^As a modern architectural photographer I am always looking for a lightweight,# _" s) w2 {7 o
compact and reliable camera system fulfilling the requirements of my personal
% d, u* Y- `, G P; I2 ~artistic and client expectations. The Nikon D800 will set new standards for O& H2 i3 s4 Z, s- O1 C/ @, w- A
the high-end 35mm D-SLR market. I have never worked with a 35mm digital

quality lenses such as the PC NIKKOR tilt & shift lineup are indispensable for

perfectly match with the newly invented system and produce breathtakingly2 A8 b8 U* o3 \% @$ W/ G1 H
clean, clear and sharp files. This camera gives me the photographic flexibility
$ ]$ h; U/ X8 p5 e" R( X/ Hto work at unusual shooting locations and capture images in an exceptional
: O; i, i7 \* a) Y' u0 }range of light. It definitely takes my photographic versatility and image quality
