; i6 l. Y" a2 ^6 \) ~ B+ q• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
A) }% Q( a) s! A! H( |: u• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
+ c" q ~7 B$ M2 z7 D) L4 h! C• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers( F) E( R6 Q, P" d3 k
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams# o7 }9 d: B+ d. d
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
& j3 l! [& g( z9 E3 ~• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment7 Z$ Q* m5 Z& X. k, ^6 @: [5 f4 W
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
: B) f9 k$ Z9 \6 w1 _0 j% d7 E• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
0 O8 c/ ?# C8 G0 \9 M' A% i, ?• Mix paint, blend and match colors
/ z! W& F8 g2 P1 A+ M# q; ^• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
9 D7 Q- r' }! g7 U6 P" Z• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs/ v: g Q% W e% A: q
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation
2 L" Y. p6 [( n# a( k' `% {) ^6 `• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling
2 W1 C0 s3 o, f# E) zEducation and Experience Requirements:
0 v7 m( | w% v& r• Completion of secondary school is required
! U5 B' L5 n; S& r" {$ ]( E# U& V• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program : F) B% p7 r$ D2 K1 t
or
0 `$ Y, v3 z& n% e# Z/ v' Q N0 bA combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
