Job Description:
! n3 {: \0 B; ^9 i- i7 x• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed% s5 D. M+ u5 @6 ^' H+ ]8 H4 J& j
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
8 d! d3 W$ G. F• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
6 q$ d3 C: v$ b W& r$ E• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
1 z# m4 R, M$ o) ]' i. d. B• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place, }4 ]) j o4 h/ k
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
/ P3 `$ e2 x$ e! j. a• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
3 k q$ z. M! \2 P" a r+ v- a• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting" p4 [# P, X0 p; W% ^; G
• Mix paint, blend and match colors6 [% R4 l5 W% p/ E, d) a) O
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns A+ |- Y+ J- R! W. x' E( {
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
' `# z& g1 H1 z; q C$ Q• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation
: B# ]+ g! L2 ~+ W6 K• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling. } S% J* M9 J% m, \0 Z
Education and Experience Requirements:. Z, n3 \/ ^7 @0 c- l# [$ c, d
• Completion of secondary school is required: X! U) Y( d, W+ x# u& I; C
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program
