• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed" H, g9 |( f2 X: ^9 K- q- }
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
# P5 h9 [: i6 n1 v• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
! U! f/ ]1 C% R' ?. a• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams/ k9 Z1 T: l" i5 p
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
2 @( X+ s9 P7 W8 b! w• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
+ @6 P; I' ]6 ^6 k/ m• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
0 _3 y v& C; M! f. T: z; _• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting5 p% G6 @( G3 _6 N
• Mix paint, blend and match colors
, q' W- V+ J# n7 N, y• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns

• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

• Completion of secondary school is required
! G! `. w8 {6 `# {• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade " ^$ y0 z+ F: p+ t/ c, f; _6 j
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory : ]( x J( R; O7 T5 ?" G4 Z
