Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:
% D/ }. J0 u7 Y( k( {• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
$ q6 w( j. ? b• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
( n$ ^! v( I2 k4 R8 T( x• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately" M+ b S V: j& x- u
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
. C/ J; p* {, Y, K, K9 l+ N K8 Q* `• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings* h- L1 x. [! I) B. \
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents; @+ f; w; s0 A/ N) }7 s+ l
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
8 j4 K' U% V+ s" E2 ]. ?• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events/ k( D& }/ E- ^- i9 N; w
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
, V. ~+ s) ` l+ j, f• Keep the reception area tidy and clean% h4 y1 F7 y/ a7 [8 ~) J& J7 i- I1 K
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

• Perform general office duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
/ Q5 b! Y- v2 O& v, E9 q* n+ E• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person! H0 T& Z$ B' Q/ u5 C
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset9 d7 _- a3 D) `
• Good English writing and oral communication skills
" F; `( A/ p% a( [/ F& L• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients& k% i3 w1 f3 m+ g- b6 u
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook

• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

• Knowledge of immigrant services
8 C& }7 F' o+ ]7 ?Qualifications:: |- H& C8 x) k& a8 L
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
L' q; V$ j" X' _* L• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
! Y. x1 m2 c' i• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
. ~3 X$ t2 Z# Z) @# g8 q• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
