Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

- ]) B: e% Y2 i) s: n: }Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
7 O9 N* ?. E9 K6 m) v' l• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
9 U# |5 L8 {% a• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
) B Y- q( u2 k- n# N- {: a• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
! Z# N! p1 y+ n9 }6 V: M; l• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings8 \4 u9 d( j3 I
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
) q# m3 c# F( p" _" p/ N# N* @• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker

+ Z9 \" s/ m2 g2 t1 D5 s• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events

• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters3 m1 ]- j/ Z/ {# Z! t0 b) L
• Maintain front counter service files

% H5 c! o( e# M/ |# NKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:# [6 C& ~% d7 n) Y+ ~
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
( G) x) I: P& r• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
7 H( ~( G, Y0 h! S: ^- N$ g• Good English writing and oral communication skills
h" ?5 a* h* `! q3 S/ l• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients9 w0 p3 ]: _6 N" @* Z9 W
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook' M4 x+ b& E' z: T5 o
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately $ k5 q, y5 R. ]1 v& F
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds& p8 ?! k6 ~' r8 A7 t, G2 \
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment' b8 r% H4 l0 v* ?
• Knowledge of immigrant services: o' u7 \) |( J5 h1 a
Qualifications:' n2 X) J6 @4 K( ]( j
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
! F- K- q% C3 H3 H$ r! {4 `• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment2 y Y) A! b1 G; D
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism/ a9 r$ I ^/ D3 A7 e
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
