YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties. k7 i- e: Z. K% ?) D. z
Job Responsibilities:

Payroll:2 ?2 V8 a$ A& M. N% i/ D
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired8 a. ^$ k1 O* Q& K1 K
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll. a+ s. Q: f! _9 h
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records - C7 ^6 c8 P$ S2 l' m9 o7 [4 r9 [
• Input benefit deductions into payroll8 `' ? x" F Z; k) {
) {1 e* R& i) h! SReporting duties:
+ N: i# z- f- x- J% A• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider; k2 Z2 K" K& A" h2 q, H: y
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
/ O& I! A# a8 v% O& G6 b0 g2 X• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
1 k0 l+ |/ V! T* G9 ?' H, T: O• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority4 i! x% Z7 H# c. d6 k# l
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

# R8 r. ]1 R, N; q: z• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
T6 p' B4 k& n+ g; j• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
$ f1 a, l6 D' P/ v6 p• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies& Y, h0 C6 v6 k! V) F3 y8 ^
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit( l, _3 g+ e. ~. o
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
* ]# ~/ v# D, N& ?• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments
# L" Z2 o" ]$ v+ W% z2 T• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing1 G( K4 p' L2 g) x" ?

Qualifications: y( o; A+ v$ `8 j) Q1 O
# d, {3 y( u. k5 `* ~1 j& T1 K; X
• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
4 K: B9 Y# u& ^' g5 R! u# A# A• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association; B+ ~* n8 J8 V+ l
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
: R8 {/ g4 T+ l$ Z; |• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
! H o! E0 D& w( l2 n• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work, L W4 k4 @" W5 s4 c- W6 E- W" l
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure/ K* U2 K& f! x( _" i# |
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
