YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.

6 q% D1 C& o; j" }& ?- xPayroll:
. L! v7 V9 i j6 y4 n% U• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
8 f; M" j# U$ ^7 A$ {• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
3 X, p4 A2 i% E• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records * e: r( V K% e
• Input benefit deductions into payroll/ j5 d" E; V( J% W! [" s9 i
I9 [% j0 i, ], b9 c0 D
Reporting duties:
$ B1 ^9 L9 _6 A' U• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
! Q4 k3 W/ E- I/ N• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website# J* _# k; `( o/ M, S' @
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
" N B" j; Q/ y6 m1 S2 [• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority
. U! c* `7 T7 D0 R r1 i• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations5 K( C9 C# V3 ? I7 w: B- ~/ S
d+ y8 x! g' }# UCompliance:- V1 w/ P0 r1 b
• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
: Y- ?3 |7 t, M% G& w7 E• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
/ L) Q+ N1 e$ a+ s• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies* D9 d! O( Q) b4 W3 d8 E* U
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting- p1 T; x' L [/ Z& r5 P/ d
8 L. d, a' c& j. {1 F4 kAccounts Receivable:
4 I! I/ @" d& |& Z• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
: X! G. [! L& {7 B• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department4 a' }. a8 c) _( J
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments% o0 w3 f/ P$ ~! N* `. L' |
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

8 d; I. F. |& Y3 l- I' W• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
. w& W0 U& C9 ^: W8 d• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
, H! L1 C& J2 h+ q; M/ Z' e$ Q4 A• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position) ^/ Q+ S* o6 ?! d
• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office3 q3 i4 e e' W3 q9 B
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work' W- H- |7 H" t1 N$ x. U- R
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
