Job Responsibilities:

Payroll:; F* Q% J* V" s; T, e o
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
8 h- Q- n; p: e0 P8 t2 C7 ?• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll( I4 I# T& V) X& q8 S" D5 v7 L
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
, a# t) }% N+ k9 a3 A/ J0 T• Input benefit deductions into payroll. G+ [: Q) Z" V" A' Q2 [2 l
* V1 B. N5 v7 K. gReporting duties:
- a+ m* v5 {) E! G• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
T1 o' m/ H9 M* U" { I• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
9 {! R$ I* F& x; W w' U: Q% p) p• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
' ]! ?" ~. h: r( x; w• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority

• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
0 C1 l1 J% t2 k# ^3 }: V- ?• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
9 M* G/ v) T6 i+ n1 Q( d• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies8 K' g7 K8 q0 P) p- O- B9 ?. l
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

; l9 v o/ \1 f* k• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit; z4 I) a* [. X. r, E# u( p% q
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department, \6 p1 a& g9 \+ h/ j9 R* B
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments, i+ K3 O* d1 L) Y0 h+ O6 m
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing' X: {# i/ r5 E( y; g
) i4 S( m" q4 FQualifications: v: P0 F/ |% c) r; J
; W& A- Z& G; \% _6 _" Z• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
! ^: ?) k, U" G6 g- q7 d; K4 q• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association* V7 F( Z# _# O3 i5 r$ x
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
K0 v, g6 K [• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
$ j& F" |: }, R# T• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work
$ N/ H, O3 n+ Y( W/ Z6 ^& T• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
