T.A.N.G. Youth Program is an educational and activity-based program aiming to equip

' i8 x3 _: x& O7 Eopportunities, leadership training, as well as educational sessions on
( C- a( A9 f, W5 x! M' winterpersonal skills, anger management, personal development,
% G" K) L) u' t/ Z' T0 Z0 \and Canadian-Asian culture are some of the ways in which this goal is achieved.

0 ^, W+ ?7 h4 s9 w" R6 z5 eEach session presents concepts through interactive activities that encourage active discussion and participation.% L: V2 d. j/ C8 T

 Explore personal interests in arts and recreation

Program Schedule:
/ _) }% `+ {( ?) W3 E% RRegular Spring and Fall Group Sessions: runs on alternate Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.
: O. p! I) K0 Z3 z$ vSummer Group Sessions: 2 consecutive weeks in July from 9 to 5 p.m. daily5 K( [* m: W8 c6 g( e, X
2 consecutive weeks in August from 9 to 5 p.m. daily, f8 j9 V3 i8 W

& x: X/ s: M: l( D" I/ ]Asian youth aged 11 to 15, who are new immigrants or locally born Asian living in Edmonton or surrounding area.

What is the cost of joining the T.A.N.G. program?" X$ H. d) I% d$ u# o0 Z, ^
It is FREE and space is limited to 15 to 20 participants per group.

Volunteer’s Duties:
% m$ T \" v6 d" ?/ n
; }* ^) l( d4 A y Distribute promotional flyers to schools, churches, communities and social services agencies ! P# N" S/ R" c L$ V" j
 Facilitate and/or coordinate activity-based function such as to host a gym day or sport tournaments or workshop on personal growth development
4 X) U8 X3 i/ ]* R# m& t3 v Facilitate or assist in ice-breakers and/or other activities
+ ]$ h: u1 j) `7 g m. `9 \ Facilitate or assist in small group discussions$ S4 `' ~0 a5 E8 a- g7 h% `
 Research activities related to the sessions’ topic

 Assist in program planning4 a- o7 J) c3 a4 Q
 Be a role model

- {" k a" [5 @8 b9 Z; D4 k0 | On-going volunteers (we have volunteers dedicated themselves to the program for almost 4 years) |8 `! I5 @3 R( b# [ T
 One time volunteers: minimum commitment is one seasonal session, i.e. 8 – 10 sessions in Spring, Fall or Summer W' C- _$ m7 ^. t

 Able to work independently with minimum supervision
