In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.! e( f# M) e( i& d6 ]& E- k

/ i ?. |6 v' n1 B. W$ r1 ISEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. ( F3 z5 j1 o; N* y$ }5 e6 t3 w, M
SEDI is staffed to: ( j0 a2 F6 l- P% R
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research , B3 G3 U* c, N: m* l0 ]6 K6 V
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners 1 J" I' Z' T0 N' h4 V# h
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation 5 t: I, X# ]% w- ?& _
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs + _0 D( O* \- F( L6 c! e# n! @
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
% D" V. g5 F M0 J• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

" b2 b |6 P( u% }' q, Z• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
. [0 G; b! O) M6 l* r" Q" z• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
" {' `) o A3 `% a6 E# i& n) \2 r• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required ' N# J# S7 g4 ]; r
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
7 h9 v+ A' q% U0 E7 ~2 p• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
7 D& q/ u9 |* n! K9 r, S- D• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required 0 T& I" P7 P" {) Y1 _; Q5 a% n. q# z
Other Activities:$ J+ W9 S# W5 p" C/ I) R+ _/ t# a
• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
; C( c" {. t* l; r5 d• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners : B w$ P3 N% z5 B
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
! {( O' t" c0 H$ u! [; i; O• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports $ U: q2 J% a$ Y; R
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning ! V1 u0 J. y* N" }# m
Primary Qualifications:
; |4 \, g3 R' R ]; W• Demonstrated group facilitation experience # B- q9 m$ _5 [0 |$ ? K
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media 2 o0 f7 t4 a1 ?. Y
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training 1 g& ]3 F' t0 S7 [$ l/ _; i
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities 5 _3 M( N! z: b2 ^
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams : h) X6 F- T9 O1 s# C
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals

• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc . T5 I, A [: U v' U5 I
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
+ v/ w0 h) j2 \• Content / curriculum development experience
/ V0 E) U! A* Z% g- K" k% C• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners % J1 a( Z3 ^+ x6 |% V
• Excellent organizational skills
