SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. 1 c/ L1 R7 i' T9 H: t
SEDI is staffed to:
; l8 U& S5 q8 W( v E: \• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
* r S" o! p" A6 [• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
5 h' S" a; p/ O/ I: \/ i. [7 m• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation 8 p9 ?' \" g1 D4 p; K; f# v7 c
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs * R' ~; t* m- n _( J, c
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
! G3 }" M* _3 }& z• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

: @- c( b" a" ] sPrimary Responsibilities and Activities:
: b6 @2 B. ~" Y• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada ' t0 O- j# E* i7 r0 n* s
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) & y- M6 V6 E4 i' [1 E9 M
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required " l' G3 ?( Q/ s: ^
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities K e* J9 B- e7 \) x8 A; w1 _
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
7 {2 ^9 \% Y8 p4 c, ^• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
v9 t% z1 C9 J6 M$ [! ^: j• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
3 _3 i6 T/ i" U5 u7 f4 \• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
" S# Q# c, j% B6 t3 |• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
. z3 u+ F" O" g• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning 3 ?9 o1 n4 h# L/ T, z" V9 K
Primary Qualifications: - G9 O% ^3 S) w5 q T$ v
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
" V( d* ~4 I; {" y( x2 V• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
9 V# B# ]4 g% F% K1 I• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training / i. x- ~. v$ C
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
' q1 t* D3 }$ \3 O5 L• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
$ U- i, W3 ?& e! Z: |+ h! S8 t2 L• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals 9 c3 _ l/ P% \: V
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts ; o& u L/ y" F0 j+ G# y, A
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them 7 {% Z4 Q: D- H: p9 I( |
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc / Z4 m) P) l4 }3 t1 i9 I+ N5 v5 }
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education

• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. % r. f" B1 P7 t6 {1 u
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset / ~7 h8 c2 @* a9 h( n
• Policy research skill set is an asset
