In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada." J7 ?6 Q( v0 L7 b

SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
. H J2 ?5 W0 USEDI is staffed to:
4 q2 C2 j! I. }* C' I$ Q• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
6 N+ ^6 D( \/ ]6 w; ? u% v• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners * D" J) [* D4 t, @3 E9 @7 n
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation , U7 l) F- v, N; Z0 R
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
[1 n( e$ O1 F { d9 w• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits 8 ?8 W' _9 f& G7 y/ o
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses 8 ^. M4 D& u/ D& w2 M" @, U
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada 7 |! C8 C7 U2 d6 e7 O7 y
Primary Responsibilities and Activities: . p0 }* o7 C2 [, U% j" A: l
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
/ y0 I4 e3 h' z% V6 }• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) " e: u1 h9 ^( F1 \ `" t
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
( C+ G2 F9 v: d. j# o& b. G• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
) K" R( w" ]- V! ^9 Z2 o- U4 k6 k• Working with evaluation and management information systems team ! ^( T: Q6 t# D7 a1 t
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required : T8 R# A+ B9 `9 J2 R# f: T" W
Other Activities:
. `6 e( S5 ~8 n# |• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies * J7 ^! n' V# U/ k
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners # `/ ]1 Y9 ~9 ~& ?; Q) R
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting ( A L0 `1 o/ a
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports ( V6 T* g8 K: {: V
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning
; [- W. x( Y4 b" o" m" v+ t' EPrimary Qualifications: 5 u0 n: m3 O7 W; f/ {5 p/ @8 p) T
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
* N$ M% B- w1 [1 U# a• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
; @% n! E1 _) u• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
6 F/ G* o5 T# Y* l• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities 0 j9 x8 d7 t& F6 ^7 L$ x% l" ?# b) t; X
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc % K" S6 ?; [3 t- J( ^# Q
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
7 J7 [. k4 K, Q' |( b• Content / curriculum development experience
" ^! J' l9 Q# C2 s• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners , I( n7 U4 ?, G( o) X
• Excellent organizational skills
% H& ]% I4 p4 d7 ?+ r1 I" ?) j• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. 6 y9 Y8 E& A/ b$ e
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset

• Program evaluation experience an asset
