“Dry weather conditions mean there is a heightened risk for uncontrolled fires,” said Deputy Fire Chief Ian Sterling. “This ban is a preventative measure to help keep Edmontonians safe from the risk of fire.” - l2 m3 W) s2 X8 N2 X/ q- s

•Legal back yard fire pits

All citizens should be extremely cautious when using back yard fire pits, barbeques and other sources of ignition including cigarettes.

The City of Edmonton asks all citizens to comply with this fire ban. Any contravention of this ban may result in fines being assessed to recoup costs associated with dispatching Fire Rescue Services to fight the fire.
