sexual harassment.

' m* N- S+ f9 u* g# k$ yWest was involved in a sex scandal in 2005. He was accused of sexually
1 }" o- J7 [+ ~abusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
- t: k9 ~, Z5 Eand Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
, Q  P3 y. g/ fto lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
* f* Q! [2 h7 oallegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
7 Y6 Z2 V5 O1 R, h4 wrelationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

West confirmed the accusations of meeting men over the Internet but denied
the charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-
BiGuy" he allegedly offered internships to young gay men (some of whom were
just graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of
18.

6 o9 `# Y- f/ z( W/ ]founder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs,
Colorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
leader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until
' v% o' M% K- T$ D' [November 2006.

4 P$ x: [! c6 M6 `, aIn November 2006, he resigned or was removed from all of his leadership
$ x1 p3 Z3 \1 ^; \1 U$ W3 v" fpositions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
sex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
but as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
3 N- F/ K0 N7 @6 c  `, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
immorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

After the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
0 t( B5 G5 @1 E2 F& ncounseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
ministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
Ralph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
  B( u+ }! f( e/ m+ Qembrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
; z; f2 |7 j+ c5 Ureceive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

On January 23, 2009, officials from Haggard's former church announced that a

reached a six figure settlement with the man, who was in his early 20s at
