Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
0 |  H0 D; w2 T; G6 b! X+ h Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
+ B$ q0 \/ l5 U: M4 j Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
) @2 g, @+ h. d; s! V Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
0 m1 P) t9 r) ^3 K Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
) {; J, E6 o* P Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
8 s( M6 y1 Q* M2 u Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
/ z( ~' e/ `  Z* |* q# G Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
