 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
; O( }1 G  @9 Q6 Z: j, e2 X& Q2 b Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
0 p8 a' d; R- o/ C% R  A Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
' k8 F- p2 o5 X/ ^# E3 a$ x. G Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
+ k  T8 o& o2 L) q  E  f4 J Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
* }* r" ]" G4 J; I% C5 z$ R Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

6 A! D: v" p5 pQualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
! F6 l; t! E: f8 e: A Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
& l  v; o6 `1 D- O6 D Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
