4 u- l( ?8 X3 ^Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
# q7 r6 X2 M$ X. u$ S, N4 I Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
9 T% A# I8 V, B1 A1 q Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
* R- w& \/ T! s/ p' o# Y Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
! V( i. H: D) a! _/ z! K( v, w0 g Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
1 d* n# J/ A; e, y/ e9 C3 W$ ? Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
$ v  ]0 ]1 X& k1 M0 D Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
