Key Responsibilities & Duties:

( ~( M7 H! j, P# v6 K2 D/ d7 R Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
$ |% K, u6 W+ H4 W% w Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
3 `) V9 n9 M$ ]' F& H  B7 A Completing required paperwork.
( o6 Q% P' S0 w* S( P Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
! f7 {2 r% Z$ n6 ~; r  h2 r Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
! X2 k5 b( s5 G* V4 Q% L- V" m6 o Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
; F' n& U0 e& R) K% ` Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
$ p3 d$ \) X. s; R. D; k
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
- p/ S( A4 {# i; X Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

$ p2 q# `7 t5 H* LThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
