Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

, Z/ e" N- _, \/ B; r2 E6 } Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
0 @/ W0 _5 C- l" p+ j- y Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
/ A7 h8 M( G0 R( t* u Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

8 Q) r- V) m* ]$ R# t0 |. x0 v Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
7 z: L+ W: X4 w' Q/ R! [ Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
9 f& y0 ~4 S- L$ |$ DThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
$ x$ }0 n& V: b3 A4 I, ustarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
