Key Responsibilities & Duties:

0 l1 F$ q  d: p* b, G8 G9 T4 ] Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
4 e4 i: t# z& l, o3 Q9 k4 a7 Y5 o Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
( V$ M: W2 ^* [* w4 F Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
6 [( O! }* `, e  C' ?" {' ] Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
( V0 ^- B6 q. S5 V! h Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
8 a& ^' B# S! g; J+ r Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
# [% C/ ^5 C# T2 T Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
) M5 K6 Q2 I+ o4 J3 G( C/ A5 L Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
; O% I( d  s3 h" j8 T8 c  U# } Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
; B9 n6 f1 [4 P, Y6 `" w Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
( o1 `3 ~( c  V3 yThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
2 h& A- Z) S9 O8 V$ Dstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
