Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
8 c) d" Z8 q4 m Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.0 K* Q* Z' n& _- d$ C9 n8 D9 P- {
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
/ m- U" r6 ~/ P Completing required paperwork.6 M. t7 S0 v) Y2 O% D( O
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.' w; \5 m1 ]1 E3 [4 \) z2 S
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
4 ]: r" K( A9 z& V Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information. 5 ]0 v, }+ `- b2 S# W' O
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.' h4 b& I- i8 R$ ~# F+ y6 R- S0 O- u
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.6 J/ k# }$ U6 Y# W4 x
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.( k) r5 v# D: E! P" c6 \
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
# B- c2 U% D2 ?, Q/ N$ [% u Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.6 D' M9 z/ t; P, T% }4 }6 G* C
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
, R1 I( t7 w6 B Knowledge of community resources.: V0 J+ b8 o, t! m b9 n
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
' _; i8 k1 b4 T$ t8 C Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training. 1 y. c' x+ Q$ n' ` |, P

Position:: S: ?# \+ @! `0 u2 S
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; 6 S9 @6 R D+ `' o
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
