Key Responsibilities & Duties:* {5 K7 V; d( \
0 l1 F$ q d: p* b, G8 G9 T4 ] Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
4 e4 i: t# z& l, o3 Q9 k4 a7 Y5 o Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.- q! @' B* C6 Q! c* x% ~5 L+ P# Q
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.; f6 u' [; k3 r! |/ u( K
 Completing required paperwork.9 @9 x7 I; X+ O4 v/ Z; U
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
( V$ M: W2 ^* [* w4 F Following and implementing all program policies and procedures., Q5 M3 ~( u A8 e' N( W
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience." ^" B2 x) P- y) k8 I
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.# ?5 `& r/ a6 H3 ^. ~8 P5 K1 h: K
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
) M5 K6 Q2 I+ o4 J3 G( C/ A5 L Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.. @& ]" }7 C* z$ k
 Knowledge of community resources.
; O% I( d s3 h" j8 T8 c U# } Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
; B9 n6 f1 [4 P, Y6 `" w Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training. - d3 j" T) P& a. E x

Position:
( o1 `3 ~( c V3 yThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
2 h& A- Z) S9 O8 V$ Dstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
