Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
# w: g5 |0 w' ~  q+ H3 U' g7 k Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
2 r2 Y) x. o; O6 Q Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
6 D* C2 J+ O( F& R Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
; p! d8 h8 h( A' |0 N. m Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
, S3 R& t% K7 ?# O- ~! x Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
/ q. o, F$ h- d; {; c* R, | Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
, U1 l9 o0 P  o7 f' w. n0 R/ Z Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
+ O1 F1 r1 {0 H9 F1 s2 ]3 IThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
