The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
3 M6 K2 X- a# c" T @) [- D# J; `• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.# x1 g# I* p m$ Y: m
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
6 g9 z7 U0 d' p- |9 G/ Z• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
& q9 k u- \' z7 g% U1 J• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.8 x5 m* U" x3 t/ n! H
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
; B6 g9 r1 N* x, H9 C+ b2 ^5 q• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
4 L H( Z/ Z( z4 p1 f" J* V5 N• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
- r* z9 K4 N6 R9 p7 e• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
2 G, }; L1 ~. M$ _6 X• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up6 q' I, F. D3 d' J0 C

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
; p' w- o# s4 N2 i0 W# v0 d$ F• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
. X8 F, X9 Y1 X0 ]6 |" m- @• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
( ~8 r0 ?+ v5 u+ b: B" |• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department: n" Z& q; {2 u: S( O% _8 D) ?
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 3 j0 s3 |& K Z- a( _
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency O% z0 w7 d c$ K- W% m' s
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services+ ?9 B6 s- M- o" Y; \6 I+ Z! g6 @' d7 F
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
0 I6 Y% w/ C- k. ]" q• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
+ K. P9 W5 h. R1 e, i• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS8 Q, L4 ~7 I1 h, R3 {7 O2 X9 u
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
1 f6 l6 Q7 _) j# }5 f+ W• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)1 y4 ]* S! b) N# {6 Y5 f
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate + a5 n" C8 P9 d+ k
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination( D$ {1 ^- P# [2 Y6 J* ]
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
/ z! i; F9 j) O; [4 V& N5 Q• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills* T0 q1 c' m. S& ~& q- [
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills ! z" g& ^4 o$ ]& X- N
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure

• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality; v# S, h/ z: m
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
