The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.

• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
- r2 t+ M$ p; E ^7 m• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.4 z9 n* h) L u. l9 W4 N$ P" w5 V3 |' n
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.: M6 t5 A0 J7 S. T
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.$ ]+ [: Q* Q, o/ V" G
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
7 x" W& w9 v$ b% e6 C* n• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities ]- J- b1 E/ v# S8 `1 O$ l! _! a
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

* T1 K. i Q" f• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
; v1 H5 v, e( ~* j• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation) x4 J6 s# U" [
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
! _8 g- q" J" Y8 j+ }• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department" A$ H7 @# }6 e3 e7 i
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
, C1 c: N% {, ?( ^" _) h5 Y" J• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
" b" e" z/ o' F% O• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required0 F$ w1 F+ t; W( X9 s* D9 o* a, N5 [

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
+ ~% |; o6 m- f% s9 v• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
' O$ X- `: M; j9 ?: c• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)* t. ?4 }" z- Y' v* l' l9 ^9 m
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate ! H6 g2 O8 B1 Y. }5 F [* m, B
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination4 r1 n2 ~. H$ ^# e6 h6 @
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability. V6 Q# g1 o- Q, D4 B) ^# x
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills, G. P# _7 a* H, S
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills ) A7 x2 ?% X5 ]4 W4 e) U, [
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
' z: h! X" L) A2 K0 U- _- Y8 Y• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
