The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

OPERATIONS
?- Y& U( v2 n; J! A+ d" p5 b( M• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
) t' W8 d1 l+ Z4 Z• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
! N/ ?2 P+ d! v- Z8 B• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
( m0 J5 w- P% ?! Z• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
; C) K+ R$ G1 `0 o5 z• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.) M$ i& _: N% T3 V$ U+ l" V
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.5 I0 }1 ^6 N9 e2 k m
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
# N8 j( I a! M6 |* x4 W• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
& c( D0 d. t2 x4 \4 H& ?• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING 0 V( K% s1 w4 S8 X
• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO, {) J! A% H! w# a
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up& g6 z% `. K/ ?6 U# ~( M# u1 i

ADMINISTRATION
* c. ^4 Q6 \) K9 r7 s• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position! q/ V L9 B' O0 ?+ x/ M& V
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation' c7 c% y6 ^9 _+ U
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate) e' S) o, b" s" l
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
; N ~+ B* v1 H9 o2 V1 y# e* T! x• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
4 k! |2 m9 U( W! B9 R8 C2 q• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes5 c7 X9 s, Z0 Q& B
• Prepare a regular monthly program report

( G8 {- V2 t7 ?5 S• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
9 F: a' `/ E0 q, E7 J0 H• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

, I+ s/ U9 d' i! G# GINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS+ n" ?3 q. d+ G( F4 ^- o
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers9 y/ r2 u' H9 o8 R
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)7 t- u# c- q, h: G# y! E- Z3 x& }/ T
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate ! `$ |; r; t" s' T
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required* o$ ~5 F' _5 P* T$ @

Qualifications:
: p8 X9 l( [/ a: b2 B3 H: c9 A4 z; R3 K$ K+ y4 V6 a; n
• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
* k3 ^. a% W. m9 ?* y; G5 e E• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability+ r& Q# a( h/ P$ @; a" s; ^
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
: Q9 ]1 ^# f0 W& z( I• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills ) E+ W4 t K- m3 C! G- G9 z
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure1 ~' W3 E$ ~6 |0 `) N
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects 1 E& F2 e% |0 f3 G$ G
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality" X U" A6 H; V7 x% F: H
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial 1 k, i/ r6 u# G9 L3 b* ^; B( e
