The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.1 k! r3 N" }1 J: c! e/ e
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
3 H) L, Y* _. h" [: S/ Y• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge9 g1 a! D0 u5 j9 I: B( j$ [" V0 N
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills./ ~2 w- A, _7 \( e. y. X
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
" Z+ R2 O' l8 j( ]• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours." A5 g2 k' w/ u$ w1 s" P+ r9 h
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.8 [) G" L: U; _
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities j+ X& G4 [2 {" F+ f! F
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required2 q9 q8 }% B+ r# S6 m

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
9 p& s2 e" @& N* u8 X9 d• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
) b+ c# @# F- Y2 d, j' m. v• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate' S7 z% @4 d" _9 i
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
2 C$ M' E- @( z9 o9 E+ X• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required ) h" t6 a6 b' X8 o
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

) ~ B, J4 F! W0 K* E/ \. p; Y• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS( }# _3 C9 R3 F# e$ `: c2 z9 F
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
. C/ m' c7 G; @• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)3 r5 j/ ]4 `: E2 L
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 4 r9 U, q+ _' P8 b( V
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required( d& F1 h& `0 X" Y, \+ ?

Qualifications:% S- b3 q7 l1 S2 ~
" T5 {4 F5 G9 _8 ^) L• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination# b5 |# ]( a8 V# z+ f
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability U* M" y0 G* }: D
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
}8 |6 L$ |2 e: {) o9 L• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills . s3 z3 N! b& f1 H5 P7 g, `9 M
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
7 ]: G7 N/ F2 L- S* V9 @) w• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
