The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.2 s- S+ o2 t8 v7 ~ ?/ V

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

8 b- y3 Q% F- y' f& s/ y• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.- o( V+ a( o% d6 ?
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.1 W/ P! w; c: |9 ?& A
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
7 |1 d3 P( l7 E3 g- Q/ n5 [6 {# U• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills./ B! W. ]2 E" \, X. Q
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.6 M4 B% j% @) D& @9 P
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.

• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
+ s" x; q: @5 s! l! f+ L1 k• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required1 g) }" u. b- x6 s4 s. z

: F( s. S3 p; L y2 V• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO# `8 ~4 C5 ]) e( q- m6 u
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

" i3 x( ~; M( U' B& L2 D5 s• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position# W% O8 P; g1 X
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation0 d$ _! G% S4 J5 [. c
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate8 {6 v$ e+ d& }; R
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department0 I1 L: \+ T6 `: w n0 G8 u
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 7 _& j' T) E% j
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
( T! L8 a4 j' w, E1 R• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
& _- t' ~3 P/ y" e/ L• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)9 v: o/ x: q, ?. [; {7 ]; X
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 0 ?8 i9 s' Y2 J
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
- {( @! ]) Y7 S" @3 ?• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability; {# ~9 Y8 g- j: p5 t& m
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
2 P5 M2 g8 D& T: {& K, h2 ]& t( ^• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills 7 B/ j' O4 L+ I
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure3 e3 [0 H5 \9 i8 P4 n. ~
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects ) w7 Z. `; W ^( C. _$ K" ~
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
