An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

Major Responsibilities:
•        Process research equipment design;
9 i. n, }7 e4 c; I+ m0 m•        Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;
5 x" f1 D" I; h1 X6 K- d# x•        Equipment fabrication guidance;
9 a+ _6 y! C2 ~" k# l: {•        Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
3 M! g7 e. W& F) x1 u4 e# @•        Others.
! O( r( a; A  E( J/ |3 Z/ W
+ L" w* k2 W1 \' {4 v6 y. J- z2 B% RQualifications:
•        Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months.
•        Equipment design experience is required;
•        Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;
1 j4 N+ H# K% Z•        Familiar with CAD software;
•        Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
4 G- e3 ]  d5 Y+ _+ K' ?+ h  R/ V# m•        Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

Compensation:
3 q  [- k% N/ P  p. `Successful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
