4 D1 O# d, P& v0 m% B1 P' ]Key Responsibilities & Duties:

: @3 j# v& A7 j# A6 n1 |: b$ k Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
5 A" F+ D* N+ M! i1 d Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
6 n3 A9 ~6 c/ V+ _' W% K Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
6 l0 x7 u+ t  ]0 ?% m Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
; ^! G& t+ y' Q( o7 J Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
1 f: w- O6 z- @+ i% J% R Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

  P; V& g: t5 P! t4 y2 p1 q Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
5 D2 U# I9 A5 ~: k, s7 `4 j Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
- d' N% ]- r7 ~+ v Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
% @% B( q/ o$ W% z& d Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

& ]0 L' @8 r  X* n: eThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
