Key Responsibilities & Duties:

0 }" m! h" J% W0 Q* N! R" D* | Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
$ `/ r0 [( Q* I- J6 u Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
# D3 w' R( O  Z) @9 v Completing required paperwork.
4 E+ I9 h2 s+ W! l& V; j8 G7 O# D' a Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
$ R/ r8 Z" j; |4 V- c Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
( v/ I) c/ b$ g: P( ^, {- I  Y1 { Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
8 V% u1 \) E0 | Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
6 E. d2 A" M* v1 \' s Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
3 o, {9 ]" T. Y9 Q7 ^. F Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
5 O; e8 e6 P2 h/ a* x) K Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
6 I) m! h. Q" O8 K Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
