Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
7 x( ]. L7 ?- | Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
. r6 I: d2 p2 M, z- x  m0 ?' V Completing required paperwork.
/ N3 z$ Y2 R& S( A' s0 r/ W1 b Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
9 h! E9 ]" }: l1 U: a2 W Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
* G7 p2 o  z9 |4 U- u6 P7 t Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
) L6 K. a* h* b9 | Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
% c, d: d* I$ a Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:

, ~6 z. S% _2 _5 @/ T  C9 M Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
) Q& M1 }. D" f0 i9 M Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
