2 O; L/ F; n+ N# L% IKey Responsibilities & Duties:

. U/ o! m; x3 c, F& p1 d. m: d, x Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
0 Z- \! N9 K/ M: ^* M; { Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
! N) X; Y( B1 D& D/ N Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
6 p6 e5 Y; H. M, @2 U Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
( u7 k. |0 N- r, x+ x; d. h2 b Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

! Y) ?: g" o5 ]7 Q5 |* S$ @ Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
4 [0 f& M. ~; Q4 R& Z+ W6 D Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
* Q5 a) x9 E: Y& \7 ]8 G$ Z Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
, t* f6 |6 }+ c8 l Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
