Position: Project Coordinator, Peace Ambassadors Program / Terms: Full-time / Start Date: August 15th 2010 / Location: Edmonton / Salary: $40,462 - $56,410 per year (full benefit and pension package) / Hours: 35 hours per week, some weekends & evenings / Closing Date: July 19, 2010.

Essential Qualifications: excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society; experience facilitating educational sessions using participatory techniques; demonstrated leadership abilities with youth; experience with project coordination; degree or diploma in human services field. Preferred: knowledge of immigrant or Aboriginal culture and/or language; experience with functioning of non-profit society.% J/ [+ ^1 Z+ h! o

6 R2 C3 k& w% @4 B1 ?4 f0 F1 @+ cRecruit Volunteers – facilitate on-going recruitment of volunteers to participate in the core group of PA; this is done by inviting members of groups who are being presented to, making contact with other youth groups, and by print media, broadcast media, and e-mail invitations.

Training – facilitate weekly meetings of core group volunteers. Training in participatory techniques, presentation techniques, and knowledge of race-related issues.

7 s, c7 ? z8 E' f9 s* ]Organize Presentations – advertise presentations through distribution of brochures and posters and by contacting interested groups and schools by phone, email, and mail; take requests for presentations, set up dates, and ensure adequate volunteers are present to facilitate discussion.0 s4 Y$ {* V9 q5 E7 G# h1 j9 q! p

Networking – attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate; create/maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations.

Professional Development – be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.

9 R$ _) X. Y$ k+ xProposal Creation – with program manager, create proposals to all funders of this project. Ensure criteria for each funder is met in each proposal. Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators. # v8 o. l; i( |# _5 i

Project Evaluation & Reports – submit timely monthly, quarterly, annual reports and include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model.: k. _5 g: Z. {, j# |4 U9 H0 C
