Essential Qualifications: excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society; experience facilitating educational sessions using participatory techniques; demonstrated leadership abilities with youth; experience with project coordination; degree or diploma in human services field. Preferred: knowledge of immigrant or Aboriginal culture and/or language; experience with functioning of non-profit society.* c2 p) Q, M# j4 c, C; n

Under the direction of the Program Manager you will:0 N5 _2 d) \5 |3 Z* z& m

Recruit Volunteers – facilitate on-going recruitment of volunteers to participate in the core group of PA; this is done by inviting members of groups who are being presented to, making contact with other youth groups, and by print media, broadcast media, and e-mail invitations.

" l0 B/ w/ M. ?4 y- w, HTraining – facilitate weekly meetings of core group volunteers. Training in participatory techniques, presentation techniques, and knowledge of race-related issues.

Organize Presentations – advertise presentations through distribution of brochures and posters and by contacting interested groups and schools by phone, email, and mail; take requests for presentations, set up dates, and ensure adequate volunteers are present to facilitate discussion.3 |) ^* x- p, d2 ?, q8 Z& [3 @- `& g
9 \9 e- ]) `" I6 gNetworking – attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate; create/maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations.( I& E1 x- k8 q$ z
; @6 F4 `) j7 [8 i$ f) ?Professional Development – be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.& s/ i# G9 y! G1 A8 P a1 e
m# a! ~$ Z/ O5 p8 hProposal Creation – with program manager, create proposals to all funders of this project. Ensure criteria for each funder is met in each proposal. Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators. 0 d; X8 H' _/ d0 n% ]( X: B
* x2 z4 u9 N' `' J" i' CProject Evaluation & Reports – submit timely monthly, quarterly, annual reports and include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model.
