+ T2 [# M2 C1 t4 X2 }As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
' P/ @7 B* R* Z1 uEnterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
) |3 O, w' C+ k, h• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

# V. |9 H1 p4 w  K6 Z• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
" M/ ]8 [% @6 a5 k1 c1 ^• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
! g/ I" ]% y2 O$ m, q* D• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
/ \, r% D1 b# s% M, }" |( Z• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

7 G* Z1 K  Z/ h& w, p" y9 u- ?$ JSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
$ @  x! {7 p! F$ f7 ]9 I• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
2 |( H+ P3 `: }; a- h8 ~4 J& ]• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
% C5 K1 _- x% U- d• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
) k: n  J2 O  Y. m4 ]0 f" n• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
# M) w- n- ~0 b2 a. ?• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
: P. `! B  d) f4 y+ q! Y) }8 ^• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
1 J7 P8 J! B; M" J• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
