FUNCTION:
4 I% ?4 p; u& {+ f9 NAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
  {1 A4 |  g* ^" {% j$ G5 Y+ }# C• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
: }4 ^/ }$ [8 I• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.

% d$ k' r- ?  a5 {, u. U# b( p• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments

• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
' X  i. J9 V4 N" ^• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
7 u+ Z( q# k& u# W• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
1 W1 N4 F0 L' h2 F) ~• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
/ c+ s/ u# p2 f3 B  J. o& ^• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
2 Q' Z6 {& Q" G: ^3 b4 C. c• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
( Q+ ?3 R/ I- V3 d• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
% w, A7 h" ^  \" T8 Y• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
