% f% b- U7 w) d" R% DAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

+ N( ]8 z5 D- Z4 aDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
* k4 Q# n. [) W* u• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
: I7 c5 e" j: t( V% b0 S• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
9 m2 r3 \: U. H! ?3 h) }• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
2 ~3 _, \0 f, h0 h! cBi /Reporting/ETL
( @1 F5 \0 a: I; o• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
' J* D& R# s4 h# ~+ S, \; L; p• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
/ b7 j6 B0 X9 A• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
: M$ N( i( B1 ]6 B• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
/ d" T) K) t  a4 m• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
3 u# c4 e; o) K2 U, Y* w) a• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
2 j) ~( w# r3 s) ~$ \( P$ P+ ?• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
, {: B% y! J7 U• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
6 p  `8 j% ^3 O! e( Y1 H7 w' J• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
" m; s+ @. L- S6 I. n% Y! ]8 j• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
