( O( B& I6 M9 |) j5 ?' y- uAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

' ?3 n' ]; V2 e9 z5 W4 N: |, K  BEnterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
' Z) h& H' O. x% M: B• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
2 R! I* k+ b- e5 _  ]( e& I9 W% |• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
* Q1 \( _, |3 \- x) J9 c% ?$ K8 G* n• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
; l4 i0 b6 d) A7 R' e; R• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
! K% }) I, c, D0 F• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
# y/ X# C) a/ o) |$ K• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
( f5 g* L  Q6 L# z, E• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
5 K* i& {8 q4 d  p: S• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
- o1 a9 `& `" S1 z0 ?" U. e• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
7 u# }1 {# j- x; E+ Z/ H' O$ d0 P- t• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
: q* a5 _0 s/ v! e• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
: E$ V) @5 q5 s* A% W, x  c" y• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
/ L6 t3 b7 O* m" @# m% z• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
