Primary purpose: The Social Worker works in partnership with settlement workers or

Nature of Work: The Social Worker will report to the manager of mental health services.
0 e* C! T4 r1 N+ L$ x+ R! yThe position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff,
: T2 A( Y/ P6 Wnewcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social
6 c; v6 q. Z) z6 PWorker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as
f7 W/ h) T7 Q: D5 W ineeded. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for
7 c7 @5 @9 u8 T3 Y. i) p" hnewcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial & F1 x' ], l8 T2 b) w
assessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client- H6 V+ n; e) y) m$ V

Qualification : z3 Q& J# @9 c' ]$ U

Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and # v. K! C) Y( F, v1 A4 q
experience in Social Work or related human service fields.
/ l! s; {" g9 d- R$ ? Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family
' @1 @5 p1 x7 @# P0 e+ Usupport needs 2 n7 Z- ~- p; P! v# \- D
Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications - g1 X4 f s d2 r+ k" H3 F$ Q
Proficiency in both official languages is an asset, as is fluency in other languages
( P3 J1 |: x. z1 u o% n Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle with appropriate
* G% a& e- L: O9 T% u6 Pinsurance coverage for work

Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience working in a related field
