The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

. V8 n" b0 @2 l3 ?• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
. X: w7 l O# h* x% Y X" }the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 9 b3 X7 E7 j/ \/ g. C( }: ?
the Board of Directors;
& u! x' G6 L& ^ ^& d3 l. d/ k• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 7 {6 A4 f4 a8 k; Y4 l% _* Y
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to - \1 a6 S5 j: j( u5 C- o
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; % g' V- c) x5 M$ f
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
% l) k2 o/ h2 D- \+ Hobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 2 \6 ~: r6 `' u- ^9 |, H M
the board; 1 v& `; H4 j) O4 I2 Z e
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; , v6 s0 b6 e# P, p5 L; `
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ) Y3 K, d" Z8 }+ I* G: M
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
1 l5 F! z: @3 p& s; t• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
# _2 P/ Z8 b+ O) |( R5 M- Hchanging needs of the organization and community;
4 i' e a+ @ E2 A# ?1 D1 L• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 3 D4 f z* M3 q4 R: q4 G
commitments; 6 m- Y9 r# c% ^# F. C
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; , z+ {2 e4 d4 O4 w/ ^5 m
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective $ S2 h! B& n) _$ n7 b
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
& w5 z$ f% f5 J: a* R6 R• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
; F J, m- z; l" N. ^' k• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 1 b4 u- w! @' ~4 a5 h( ?1 A' b1 w* o
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring * M5 `+ \: w3 F
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; n$ o6 d8 }+ x$ Z; M! M# x
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
4 N4 ]% ?2 O/ }0 ^% _: xperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
4 K3 @4 v0 |! H5 Wthe forthcoming year;
+ h4 R* d$ B) T% R; |• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
) V0 }2 z3 b, J9 F& A# Opractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Interpersonal Skills – Exceptional listening and communication skills and ability to build

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
. M5 M: q8 S/ |$ T• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
6 Q1 _' b& u7 z/ X5 o8 q0 V* g9 cabilities;
8 T5 m9 v+ H7 k5 a u• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
3 [; I0 t) w$ tNetworking and Fundraising; 9 X& z% E4 p, M( C
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting $ w% T X3 q, u( o
and financial statements; and + ?3 a0 K, x, x9 ~: f( U/ |' X
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women 9 E/ b- w1 M$ V% {7 R) W
centered perspective.
