The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic % U! N6 y: k1 ` j _

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
: B! z+ U- W) n4 Vexecution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include: % K4 p, D. ^7 ?4 _
2 n" j T5 s0 H8 C7 O• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 2 D* H* k- ? @9 k, K
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
) Y3 C1 I; y' ]# Vthe Board of Directors;
7 h6 }6 I: M6 f' M• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
0 L r; e( x; o( x" xincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to / ?/ B3 d7 \, T: m# c0 F% ?* V! K: ?
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ^: ]( y0 Z8 [' D
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 0 V! L& h2 q v
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
8 [+ r3 s( u) N. M3 I• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
# ~- `1 H- O' o* f3 H6 Fthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
! a2 @# X" X# o• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 7 p. z) v: H5 g
changing needs of the organization and community;
( @! K0 L& L4 b' S7 U- L% s• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
# i" y9 A. }- B$ s' zcommitments;
! W8 c) H# x0 {7 X• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; , W" h: ^; p9 E9 p2 I' Q# K+ W
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
0 ]. V5 T0 X8 Y2 d1 M1 Kselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
) H [4 h- g4 d% C& A6 z• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
) q$ k. Q! w9 \9 U4 S• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ' Q0 T: D/ T" [* b# Y
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 4 \; ~7 P* Y0 D( S
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; . x6 D6 i; o( G- R
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
2 s' I, Q, `' F. n6 h6 Lperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED F. G! D6 O$ K) m
the forthcoming year;

practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ( U/ n9 L$ A T) s, k. w( \

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
8 z, H$ q1 I* \5 r$ s6 R. c• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 1 E0 m S# A9 l: o6 ~
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
$ _: _ n/ d' K) p/ z; O* yabilities;
! F0 }4 Q5 i$ l S. s" l• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
' n0 U6 |3 A# a8 _ {9 WNetworking and Fundraising;
* Q% n) g/ I0 q8 r$ q• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 2 C9 @8 O& | r% D
and financial statements; and
; N# a' r+ r8 H7 p; K: {3 |( |8 B• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women 0 f7 r& S& S( v* f9 ?
centered perspective.
