Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:/ ?/ L4 I# }0 Q# f2 ?! A- q9 n
After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again. 6 |9 x% t# V; R5 A4 y3 Z

We isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.5 ]6 t) u0 R/ F8 s
Swap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.
/ I+ c+ l/ w0 u0 GThe problem should be inside the bucket.

When the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.
: b0 H$ f( l B- \/ j6 b. rUse a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.8 W. T, t- ~% D a) @2 u
Confirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.7 |8 m6 |8 I t* C, e$ z w: x- ^
* L% R4 }2 X" W4 s j$ eThe next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.
, Q; @1 T* k: HThey have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again.
+ q4 U8 \9 I3 w9 {; }4 c' V It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working.
