CALGARY - A fire has halted operations at one of Suncor Energy's two oilsands upgraders north of Fort McMurray, the company said Tuesday.

No one was hurt in the incident which happened after a fire broke out around midnight at its upgrader #1, Suncor said.# s$ x2 v- S, h$ l I" H
" ~2 I# V4 s$ q1 \1 z5 OThe energy giant said the 125,000-barrel-per-day unit was shut down after the fire, and it is currently assessing damage.

+ r T: p0 ?% y5 E* L' w7 ~( uSuncor has been plagued by a series fires at its oilsands operations in the past five months, suffering three fires since October in the upgraders which convert bitumen into synthetic crude oil.
