CALGARY - A fire has halted operations at one of Suncor Energy's two oilsands upgraders north of Fort McMurray, the company said Tuesday.

No one was hurt in the incident which happened after a fire broke out around midnight at its upgrader #1, Suncor said.8 G& Z- r4 c7 c9 L# M% v

The energy giant said the 125,000-barrel-per-day unit was shut down after the fire, and it is currently assessing damage.* D) n" n1 R4 y6 Z: ?9 ^
. P5 f, C0 M5 c; H6 H' ySuncor has been plagued by a series fires at its oilsands operations in the past five months, suffering three fires since October in the upgraders which convert bitumen into synthetic crude oil.% P" _ w7 V I8 {: \7 v9 K
