Responsibilities
" @* c! v( Q. J9 U. @5 [Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
, d! L& A& T- C, HMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
- D5 K9 K  c4 a* o" m5 WMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
- m5 P* f' N) Y2 ]+ j: yParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
" z" ^) h9 {7 aQualifications
, n5 R' {7 l0 e( c! g* A7 W6 P, eMust have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
1 u$ D' u6 K+ a( U! QMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
) V8 B) a9 H- R" E+ T: KComputer skills an asset.
An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
