9 t4 x- g( L! e! f" u
ironic:$ Q$ N! F e% L! B/ I! H! Q
我在博客上帖了我们一大早赶飞机的照片,孩子们累得睁不还眼,我下面写的评注是: it's hard to tell that we were tired isn't it?
2 h& g& h; a) R: V, lthere, I was being ironic
/ o) F. H3 g# S! m0 B) [5 q( u+ Uironic 还可以形容一个situation, 比如:al gore is portrayed as a front line fighter for environmental issues, ironically he owns one of the most gas consuming cars in the world. (好容易让我编出这么个例句来!)/ q) |" |; |: I( j& U m1 i/ b# V. }
sarcastic 有更多感情色彩,有主观上的一种伤害,攻击的意愿,是坏的intention
1 I( `6 b) Y. ]4 {4 @4 }- c3 Z+ k1 P# a% M; t
还拿如花的例子说,这个情景对话两个词都能用到:# A! R8 r' Z. Q' K4 w5 X2 `$ |
如花: hi 美女
7 d; g# e# K- y, C美女: are you being sarcastic?3 b+ A& S3 [8 p1 K# Y) b
如花: i swear, i mean it, you are one of the most beautiful girls i‘ve even seen!
- D; H/ q7 v* y6 X, ?# ~美女: thanks! ironically i was just told by my brother:if you are not pretty,better be polite。 |
