Terms: Full-time (35 hours per week).
Compensation: Based on experience & qualifications.

Responsibilities:
-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
3 q4 @" {# z$ G! I9 N-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
$ d8 N" ]# o$ S9 ^5 s' M  U' L-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

& I% s" w0 c, b8 ?Key Qualifications:
0 R4 `: n8 Q6 c8 x  M-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
4 z3 I5 \" m9 G: z& V; y-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
- A) z  s2 W( G, o( d- w4 x-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
: `% e. T( m) t  F( M* J-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
4 s$ s" \/ Q; J7 r; `* A0 ]( e8 y-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license


Assets:
-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
* [: h1 \) P5 U6 H- D% C  d5 R-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required


Other: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
