Responsibilities:
-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

3 I. F7 _& p1 E$ a& {( eKey Qualifications:
-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
  y* V! u7 P* Q! E  |: m) e  x-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
-        Experience doing program development
/ m: x6 g) \; Q9 X+ p; p-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

Assets:
-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
$ J% ?; ^4 H8 L0 _' v-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
9 T) W& T% H% r0 t1 ^( ]" N7 a3 `-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
2 d7 S: e* P9 p- t& j6 G/ f-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required
