Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.

Compensation: Based on experience & qualifications.

3 L; |5 s. U6 aResponsibilities:
-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
  _8 |2 w; S4 m$ W7 K+ i* R-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
  s) h1 Y6 W/ I, r7 M. C-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:
-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
4 I5 F, Q& d- m" B-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
9 x& }5 I2 b9 n: K- m# F-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
$ d4 U) A# k* |& x5 z% Z) J& d-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
-        Skills in marketing & promotions
# h4 W4 G- l# ?' S3 M7 e# e3 [# s-        Some evening and weekend work may be required
