Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.
Terms: Full-time (35 hours per week).

-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
: E2 U. l) b  _5 ]-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
( c+ D) b$ z4 x1 _" j# l8 w) F-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
+ Z: i3 F1 n% w# a1 t# l-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
% ^! H( C- Z/ ~1 o  K  U- v-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health


Key Qualifications:
-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
8 @: p+ ]( g7 h& j3 t-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
& _. V2 w2 {1 J# D* _  U* Q-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
7 D4 B* G. O/ D/ P-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

9 w+ W* r+ t: [+ |* j. ]4 O, ?/ Z/ f-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
4 J9 O  k* m1 K7 Q3 F3 A-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
  B. v; v. T( J' x9 ?-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
/ r. c2 s& F% u* l  {-        Skills in marketing & promotions
6 B7 s& ]+ b: \3 g# H/ X-        Some evening and weekend work may be required


Other: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
