24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
5 A( \3 y$ A0 p# t- BThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
Eligibility Criteria
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
6 d, `3 Y, w' r2 ~( d3 C•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
3 {, b( o2 ]( j+ {$ I: W0 X+ D! h- H9 y•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
* l0 e8 I9 n1 _3 i: Q•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
- H% M6 V8 V; f! V. d/ ?•Be eligible to work in Canada
6 E" D& w! X. u! ?" S•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
- K; W% i( ?/ D+ k$ d•Lack access to professional networks
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
Time Commitment
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
