Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

/ p" `4 a5 w1 X9 ?7 X7 LCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.' w: d- P6 b. K4 J7 F# U: w

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Complete data entry in various programs.

; d/ s0 L: y9 n/ v( g r7 p• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.* q x" j5 w# M! p. n% I# x' }7 K

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.7 _* I; q6 H" l" L: G

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.3 ^, P2 {, t, ^( e6 W2 m# v7 P

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.; b8 y9 }4 z* u, k" `, \" o# T
" s7 k' M/ j( R! U: i8 G8 w" v• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.$ t$ `# a/ i/ a5 i# D$ I! r, }

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.! m2 o1 j, n* {2 u3 s( M$ T9 p
+ R* v0 Y: o4 c j9 `. i% V• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.: H) e7 c4 P" v, W4 e1 N- p; m6 f. `! k

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.' s4 H6 P" W6 s

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
