Police arrest two men after complaint of smelly truck carrying 1,500 pot plants

EDMONTON - Two men are facing charges after Edmonton police pulled over a truck filled with freshly cut marijuana plants.

( d# B1 u- u' `. }0 uPolice say they got a tip Thursday night from a citizen who told them he'd been driving behind a cube van that was giving off a strong odour of marijuana.

2 P% M0 c$ F" g# AOfficers who responded to the call said they also smelled the pot plants about half a block before they pulled over the van.

Police say there were up to 1,500 mature marijuana plants tied in bundles inside the van.! d! e8 s4 c& }% d b* l g C7 P

Roughly 400 kilograms of pot was taken from the vehicle and the driver and a passenger were arrested without incident.! M% Q4 @' S3 w4 M4 L; L

Charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking have been laid against Dihn Xuan Luu, 44 and Deng Xuan Dihn, 51. |
