Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties: Special Events
. b# t8 G+ A1 w$ M" ?& s) t& YPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
' `) w' F$ k0 D1 L, ~0 h· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
2 O. {; Z& K! q/ P' v5 j· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist $ e. q" K% ?! a/ W8 k
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the , M8 C2 H7 v: Z" Z% i% M
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure , Y4 v$ L1 f' }8 W! F
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. , n) N$ F' y* C$ l6 ^
· Attend and manage Special Events 3 U- G. ~8 n1 x

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
5 |$ ~* H/ k5 D: i" j! YAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 1 q7 t: N! H8 `) Y7 Z
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 5 ^. m* Z2 l3 M% R' n
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 0 y: t& l7 A" E$ [7 v- a6 S9 t! m
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers , t% L1 P) X1 J; S2 x
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 8 }* g6 z8 ?% S: ?- Z7 {
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

· Completion of 12th
- R8 Q8 B% Q( W4 e: }+ N Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation $ w# o5 U4 r% `6 ^" V
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. / i' X( {8 ~7 m. q2 k
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 6 L! O0 O" d) e
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 0 D6 p) y4 E$ j" W0 V* ^/ l
· Experience working with and managing volunteers / v$ R# p! R9 `! B, X- C$ `# `1 }8 L
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors 9 @0 j; S4 M2 b- u6 @2 t) E+ I
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events 1 i$ T$ z! e$ o* v
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training 0 R- L* B, t4 C* O& p' T8 @
· Security Clearance : W, `7 T$ q1 ?, G$ f8 l
