Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special w9 ?2 C( c, U1 Z$ V: ]
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties: Special Events 9 h* K" u/ W" D2 W- G
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: / U; Q- t# a2 F1 }
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
) O4 T8 k8 K0 \7 k! v2 E· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 0 O8 \% A4 \4 x; r* `6 I
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
3 S& }+ H; a6 A& u* Y3 U3 h" @5 _advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
* r( ~% L: q& C$ [2 G7 Dset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. - x6 n1 i# L& K ~4 B( ~# T
· Attend and manage Special Events

Duties: Volunteer Coordination ; n' l7 n5 _9 @3 ~0 h
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
' K, C+ j. `# U% \- {6 v6 e· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions ; I; v( m) h+ K$ j
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers / ?4 ?" I" V+ M- k( E/ ^
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
6 j* a( A3 n( ?: \4 j" ~2 t( l& U· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers # u5 k3 e( v; K* o$ J0 V* ], `: ]
· Complete program administration, statistics and records 0 _: E K, n. u1 w O. L8 K, B [# z% X |
. N3 \; H* J v# e2 C/ M# Q3 zQualifications: q: f9 R: l$ y4 i; W9 M- y
· Completion of 12th. Q: Z: v8 u& t) @6 h" K, {
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation # Z3 k. u1 V5 Y- h6 P' h
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
, c$ g& v K$ K· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
* u+ B2 D6 Y$ A3 M! n8 Nexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events ! C" H {) k: x. r3 G
· Experience working with and managing volunteers 1 z5 N4 D: n8 F
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors

· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work
