Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special 6 j8 n) @9 S! J6 |: d
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: # @3 I9 s y: `8 m/ K% w

Duties: Special Events 7 l9 X# N2 w- b5 {3 k" W
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
) f) \/ e: b1 O l· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 7 g8 y$ l; ^6 q; d# B: }& w
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist , S$ ~0 ^1 ~: y/ |1 M
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the " g) R+ H2 W2 { v; m3 _% E
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
7 J& a& _! N3 Z7 @ E9 ?set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

. f% O8 M8 G) W" ~Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:

· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 2 [, w( v9 B& ]4 w# J
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers - U/ s- V% ~! W, P. b! n( R# K
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 5 Z* X; i# S$ w
· Complete program administration, statistics and records 2 z ?! ?2 e+ B$ |3 B. S* A
# k1 y$ w. f$ x" X& l6 j* ~. f- YQualifications: " c& ?% R2 g: o: ~3 A
· Completion of 12th
$ \* s# \9 R2 [( i Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation " _; c ^2 L% V& Y: M2 A2 R
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
. ?' g+ w0 m4 |4 F H% T3 @· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
# T3 K( N% f, R8 L8 Aexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events

· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
6 A8 w! l) K2 ~· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events

· Security Clearance

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
