Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

& J5 _4 A& a, K4 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Staff $ ?: q* J6 H' Q- D
(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)- x) d& m: C: P

Key Responsibilities Include:
3 L% ^7 @2 D( G l; ^* t, y. g8 F- QActivity Planning and Daily Activity- Y1 ]6 a1 O" a( O. U! U
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership./ N0 b2 ^- i* C' t, }) Z/ q: q6 E
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. $ B& Y* z! {8 V! |
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
O7 Y1 @ q# i• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
1 d9 z* F8 H- Z3 e% o• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.3 y) e- j) B A- m9 b3 B
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.. J) x/ y8 U. t; M
/ u; y) C! w" b- JThe successful candidate will have:
) H8 Z& | f( z• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting1 S7 W# b0 k i9 i, G
• Experience with children
( |$ H9 U) @3 W/ c" z I• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth % N4 |/ s5 S1 U! a! [; T
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.

• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources3 N9 X7 q% a* q0 I* `& t" O$ |
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check ) A4 j; ~ {3 ^( @5 o
• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check ' M. x- w( n1 C+ ?( {" J

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
