Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. $ N S1 q+ A4 ]& h

Key Responsibilities Include
7 d2 Q! {( c6 T$ yActivity Planning and Daily Activity
: x4 V! b4 a$ r7 y, k• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.; X6 Y6 \$ h, G. d% p. N
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
q- H6 v* u+ `8 H• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, * h) O. ~. Q$ f9 d8 E3 g1 r
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
. G2 _# w9 j. o' u" P• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.1 W& a4 M- O+ `+ G
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

' n; o8 p& B: L% W- l• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting% z. W8 [! ^7 s' t2 \
• Experience with children
) f6 {7 I3 \5 f$ B: Y3 N- d• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth ( [0 U. J3 f4 I: \! Z) U6 L
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.3 M% Q6 D% H9 D+ n& [- w
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
