Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students + j# C2 R% G- a6 a2 ~1 p
(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)1 m8 g5 @) Z+ s0 q/ b0 `2 g

5 N! o% E% z, X: \2 T& lActivity Planning and Daily Activity
4 p- |. m- C! D• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.# i& y4 X$ y$ F9 F. w$ G& W" O
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. / V" e* U4 w0 e8 q
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
; _$ U- {' T1 k, q- ^0 y( I• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants." F" T( c& [; J
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.& O5 X# u( i+ x! d! o$ R: d
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
, ]" X+ u6 Z/ Q: R6 [• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting9 h( h, {7 j4 \
• Experience with children3 J9 E/ \3 U( T7 g+ E
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 5 Y3 _7 t- E4 g
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
. @& }2 t+ {' {• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
! z: m1 @6 I( ]+ W• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources" k X3 a9 v! r3 g( K- f. }1 d* h
• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check 0 d% p' ^6 C. t, ^, e# v# I
• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
+ a5 o2 T8 n" [1 Q8 G( Z
