Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
$ d, R6 y5 l* n2 H0 w7 f: E3 O(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Key Responsibilities Include
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
- S  x6 R: d5 j1 B6 Y- W•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
+ D2 e7 T/ p5 e/ G•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
& M3 J6 b' h4 g+ i! ?•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
, b5 o6 Y5 c5 x5 d. h$ @. f8 d•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
! ?, |4 f6 r: _3 U# W# J, y•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
. n! l% c' ]2 C0 Q1 b1 d+ y/ Y1 n•        Experience with children
•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
% u$ m! N) y9 T7 t  }$ f8 D( I/ u•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
•        A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
•        A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
