FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ( B5 k( P6 n4 ?. \- ~9 e
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
6 R3 K. @( G. u' Dsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
% M8 M0 N. \ N0 H, Z- kAlberta. - h; I1 L; D! O, t
6 {' J. O% {( ?4 a% B# KFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from - m3 x! z g5 E1 _9 B# e
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video % j/ `6 g9 ?( D* t3 r/ l( D
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
: W; j: l& `' j# x/ Aresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
+ T8 R1 L! C$ y+ c; _6 i$ hscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

: f! l" k" ^, p; XJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
. m! F) l* k5 \! OFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 1 K" t" b4 w8 I8 w: X
well as the script, magazine and book library.

: \% ?4 o, j( |! m$ ]8 Y/ v# P- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ! B9 @3 [! q; y, ?% q7 J1 z
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
3 x2 J" T8 i9 a3 n! R: w- Implement a catalogue template for future use
* U1 n/ ~6 d; b- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
# ^) o' u! h5 r4 E- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 8 v2 H; J# ~7 i: F$ N# I/ R
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 8 F7 a, Z2 s& d0 G( {
- Strong organizational skills ' p2 H8 c& j8 ^) S; H& B( X
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
