FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the " o- Y: m8 e; a
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 5 v( q% P( Q4 Q3 Y/ o/ g
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern : [. E" J9 P7 L" q7 |6 v0 y

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ) G3 J5 R! q# j3 w0 l! n3 b, D
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
+ @/ `: X- }! ~and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ! M$ m8 `; x2 ^4 m
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
9 v/ y. N. j4 w# fscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 3 A9 G! X+ Y# v1 b" ~( ]: V

, [/ s8 f3 {+ }6 N4 ^5 E) W' iJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the - u; d& d2 ^1 Y) R& A
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
! _6 J# W1 [4 K: C& [' `2 Hwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties: 9 X4 D/ C; f4 Q
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
# N; d+ j# D, X! _2 p) n+ Y- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
; a# E7 E: k( e; d( |* t3 E- Implement a catalogue template for future use
4 E2 Z3 f9 Q' N: I- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
' j$ p; U# J P0 S. j- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
& M* Z& R& I; ?8 ~) psecondary training, university preferred
* }9 |2 E9 @+ [' P- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week ) X9 b' A3 m, ?/ T$ G1 z: ?3 K
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks % e' q r) n$ e$ e- g* F

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: , X9 d' j0 U" \2 J8 x
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
' I7 o9 L, |9 `' U- Strong organizational skills
4 U% V) l0 F# F2 ^% {, ~' _0 u- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 6 K( _0 ?4 d+ Z) g5 H1 n5 S: ~
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
