FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
# g; k# f- U+ \9 ~1 U2 @+ Cwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
$ C/ _+ n9 Z5 r0 Z+ Aartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 3 v- b. ^1 k! h& J9 e2 B1 c. s
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 4 k( [8 ?8 G7 w$ I
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a / _0 X9 v7 Y6 [, Y+ Y
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
( z( X' f( {1 @" b, T& t' Escreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 2 L4 v' `. {- Y9 t

/ |. T. q6 l, c' p6 RJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
; H" E+ ]. O. L( \' J- z7 m# sDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by * e8 q; R' W* {6 p6 I) o+ f+ \4 c
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 8 D* K/ t, t' |* L& K7 ^1 n
9 c/ I" a& ?6 vDuties:
, Z- D3 `' O; R6 @! s' U6 t& r- Assist with research on acquisition grants $ c5 ?4 F9 V" K7 o( n: j
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
5 x0 P' s. ?4 t% ], d- Assist with equipment maintenance 0 I5 n( m3 }8 D6 b# n
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
; I! b. T2 y0 ^7 Q9 J- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
( {9 Q4 [. W! Z6 u6 |- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
2 d( x3 P/ F( R$ Z2 q& Q- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
R. k1 ^, G& @3 B- O- Advance organizational and research skills $ E) [/ b: Y- G! \. p9 }+ J
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD , F7 r& @! C9 L K9 G- B
- Strong team player abilities + t/ @) L5 v! x7 e) v2 L
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
