FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

! g7 K5 S4 @6 w6 u1 W6 |and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
4 F. M" P" k# l& r! Yresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
+ e, X. u" I/ G K0 Z" {1 mscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern # O: _5 d% F! q5 Z" c
Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive + t7 V9 _6 k7 m% M' E* l4 E
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by % }0 u: d9 `% J) X/ k
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 3 {' m' b/ y3 @# }) \

Duties: & x- V8 P+ w9 |$ }- @2 Y
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
' W9 V( `* M2 `6 k# t" _- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
3 m, G0 H- ?8 j) P5 a* ~3 W- Assist with equipment maintenance
3 u2 O4 x0 n' s' h/ J- Assist with production logistics for programming events
/ [+ g; c: v! t- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff . X* ^8 B& ?0 E; P
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
+ Z4 i: G/ G- e1 W- Provide vacation relief 4 s& J. w6 j0 ]" [% @7 y- k

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

; I3 u$ R, t, _: {' c9 u8 O4 {- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment : u/ I2 H& r5 T2 ^
- Advance organizational and research skills
- ]/ ]( ^9 H2 C2 e& e( \- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
