Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
" b% E. `. C) g7 s; k4 G provide services for Chinese community
5 }& b1 d6 W7 H# y, Z- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
2 _4 m" Y; N0 p. R" C access to mainstream services
9 _5 | G( S% }2 {- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of . O1 U8 H# w6 B! T8 O1 z
social services/ Q4 g6 I. u1 |3 Q7 D) O( V9 ~
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies0 [8 h2 Z& f( n" a: w- [# C$ e
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
* s" u" s, J9 O) O; b% H- update ASSIST website
# Z- n5 T6 u6 z- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre7 e( m0 x( b* ~9 ^ T
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
- g1 b+ U7 V" S- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
9 Q& ^2 S# s4 H5 X$ F: e- update membership database
1 ~4 t& A$ }+ B+ l- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
0 D7 o9 r% _; l& e experience and education
6 S/ Q8 _8 f" P/ T( @- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
: {4 l$ X' V. _& T/ F3 T W- experience in community work and immigrant services
1 r* w/ I1 w j+ Z% P, k- experience in website update/design
! p% L" ]7 P5 k+ Y4 _- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
