Children’s Summer Program Assistant, 2009

8 w) Y2 T% o `8 o( g- Support the Summer Children’s Program Coordinator in the ( D' ]1 `6 Z+ N2 R/ O" C
preparation and implementation of the Summer Camps5 x* L: v6 R; c4 Y
- Assist with facilitating the summer children’s program
# C2 x: [; y. E7 ^" ^* P$ z- Assist with preparing final report for funding agencies
! L1 o+ S }1 X; f/ b- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Program
% M2 D) f- g8 \6 R# H Coordinator2 L+ D% i: j, @, g4 l
- Assist with any other program related tasks as assigned by the Senior Program Manager

Qualifications:: O9 s, L( m p
- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood + w& h0 w9 T2 M$ y) }+ I% K. d* Q
Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education Q* J$ t, g' l2 a0 b/ q6 V
- Should have some experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
5 j0 U! ?. z% W! T) l- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills' M4 `2 K r! C* m4 d
- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
4 p: e+ f* u! _# [- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
; w; m% u- @( u [/ t/ @& x* k- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities5 d; B9 q4 a6 ?+ W U
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision+ J X, U% A' T( B
- Returning student (should return to school after summer)/ y7 {" `$ M( r6 L# Y. ?
- Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

5 |* [1 y8 o' _% c9 h3 Y- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June (planning) k% |, J: N6 o4 Y! d
and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)
$ x- I+ W% h, i# ]4 N) i- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009& R9 a; S6 p. T
