Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

( `& |- k" [3 X, O- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program
) n @6 _# }) x8 p9 M4 y Q2 t (ages 6 to 15)
4 g$ E" z2 x$ y% W* u2 ]- Recruit children for summer programs
4 E5 R/ J1 ^5 O! ]- Recruit volunteers for summer programs' a- q% `; v4 v5 X E" P
- Record keeping# T( m$ \& Z& ^5 e( _4 b
- Provide orientation for parents
( {& h* W4 G& {4 e' K( p- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency
5 A% [! V) L k' I2 r9 e7 d- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager

Qualifications:# m" L7 b# ?: P3 J( ~
- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education
0 m, o4 ]; R7 K1 i( |- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
N2 C2 Q6 r' J' V V- G- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills" P' z( x6 K4 b0 h _4 m( l
- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
/ T& {7 j6 ^; B0 S5 K7 u- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese+ V$ l1 R8 O/ ? v/ K
- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities+ p6 r! M: @1 s( z# ~& y/ P
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
( I9 U' r" u- z: A, O- Returning student (should return to school after summer) \% l. d2 }& W: \( \" v
- Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense' i: n: v3 _6 K3 D

- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning) 9 a* J* E" } w. Z/ m7 s5 \
and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)6 j4 p9 L' z q+ r: k w' L8 R# A
- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009
