Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009- \4 |: [! r; s# I% M/ m" y4 R

Responsibilities:
7 r& ?7 v1 j2 p9 H- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program
6 k+ s# f; S9 o (ages 6 to 15)
' d! l* _7 I$ N$ k5 n- Recruit children for summer programs; l) [% l/ A1 H* U4 w d5 K
- Recruit volunteers for summer programs* a$ k3 }) y d0 o
- Record keeping
0 v; I# u4 u$ i. H7 [5 L) r- Provide orientation for parents) c7 f0 O$ W x( Y
- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency
) D& p* ]! n+ n; U; F, q2 T- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager

) _" N+ O* w M `& CQualifications: W) a; h. ]8 U
- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education+ `! m2 [: {5 X5 S# R7 e
- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children: u( X0 m, B! ]' I' s9 w) H2 S
- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
, f5 Q' l1 `5 a; S; z9 Y- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities4 n) E/ I8 s1 g8 ^
- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
1 k4 U& r' B+ ]' k* ?- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities

- Returning student (should return to school after summer)8 f4 }: R w- i: t
- Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning) % S# O0 l+ b- W$ ~# k
and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)# `2 q* O. s7 R2 i
- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009

Salary
