Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

1 ?1 M" S! t4 _9 p$ U- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program / x, ?, J1 g6 d5 I
(ages 6 to 15)
1 \2 V* B; v# r# J# h9 o- v! a- Recruit children for summer programs
1 n3 X8 Q: k3 b- Recruit volunteers for summer programs
: D/ N/ W' M3 }) ^2 o. K! k, W- Record keeping
7 \! V, q7 n0 T. n+ D1 ~- Provide orientation for parents
# o) G$ w1 N. o* ?) T9 T! ^4 A- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency; P6 l$ w1 {' i2 m) C, b
- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager

Qualifications:
* K% L O- T+ i5 h8 n8 U- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education
! J c' b% f/ S- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
/ \$ t# U* v; w! q- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
; o) G% d6 C) L) }- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
* v+ N/ l! N1 ^' k- W- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese, e2 C; B6 ~2 `+ n2 A' d; j# P q
- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities& m% |. p5 g* ~& L" h
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision0 s$ n& X: |5 p8 m
- Returning student (should return to school after summer), r: H/ c+ g. v8 }3 C o- r8 t0 w
- Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense. g S" l8 p5 W4 X

Other Information:! F4 J9 x }. @# a; z! e
- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning)
# ]% X' i& s( L+ d# U- L5 d and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)% l6 Z1 x6 G8 D$ W9 q
- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009

- $15 per hour
