Duties

* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
" Q/ T" O8 {1 j. O1 y * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis5 w7 _) m# e. v. [% E, t/ S5 E7 p: |% t1 Y
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance7 I( L* \& k8 Q4 m7 X
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students , W% [& w! ^. \
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
# o7 e Y- M" h# H! d5 A6 I, C * Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
