* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications; z& H8 s( X# ~
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
/ a8 `. u+ N5 J, Y$ j- k0 p( V0 A * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
# }$ i% J- e4 E% I) V * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 6 B) t# k c7 A
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
