* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
+ R. p% a0 I7 D5 V; A' _4 O * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
% C5 f$ e* { d% h* e- P * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance) m% n3 K; r7 I% G
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 1 L. x: d2 S+ S, |4 Q+ A0 T0 Y' g1 p
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
% d) D' o, E" y9 O * Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs; N; L8 h1 f. I% O
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment
