Duties

* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications1 w% e. Z6 A0 e4 R
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis) g, y$ b. r- Q0 N/ m+ E" Q1 \( \
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
4 O2 T1 y+ n! _1 S( s! B# \ * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
4 e2 ~" b, N8 q$ @ * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies& {6 H* ^1 N+ P5 \# S
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs0 F, S6 O2 w3 Z5 g2 y" Q& l
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment: A3 ?& C3 B7 I" g
