A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
' F0 C: W9 Z9 k6 N$ R• Standard Child Care First Aid
3 ^0 } u4 D0 r8 V! x' c( k7 m. x' \• WHMIS
7 r! F, A9 _+ b$ C9 `; C+ v- g1 ?• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
6 z$ T& C) e9 |7 q# X. `3 q% M• Components to improve communication skills
, s/ E/ u! H6 f* d• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search
, f/ p* {4 M2 N; ?• Practicum Placements. Q, U+ T M% z4 |! I$ c
Eligibility Criteria
( X" o# g+ ]9 j& c2 v• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen3 o: R6 d& L% w
of Canada
* O+ ]! ]! U' S% }( K3 M: k7 j• have a Social Insurance Number
6 X% {0 M8 l2 g% R& X• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check0 b2 t3 _6 ~' M) e# W$ B/ \7 ^
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent# a: d, r4 o' A
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time+ H4 S) Z0 b! c1 l) z: S
program+ i+ b" s5 e. B+ Q- T+ q
Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
+ b, q h- t/ e1 ?the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:. Y8 f3 D: _" ^5 _* b" _7 [
• be unemployed or underemployed.
9 U3 F: p: |' x& K4 ?7 QThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course
