A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care., @7 O6 ]9 n# t9 G T; C5 K' E4 [+ \$ E
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and; s/ P$ V- l# _+ M
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.5 j$ D: R, f1 b( r. D

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
' Q8 P0 A0 J! B( }& L• Standard Child Care First Aid
) }/ c- W4 L6 e7 o$ u% j1 _• WHMIS
9 L, m: z" X3 t4 X! v# C6 r& M7 k( M• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care7 J0 N! _1 n% U/ Q1 U3 U8 f! f: D7 A
• Components to improve communication skills4 u5 f( U* L5 [5 e( |2 n5 A
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

6 a0 l; \: V# M7 |% I• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
; P9 o- K3 g' e; g$ cof Canada
; L, {8 w- T9 e/ f, ?4 I& G2 m I/ R• have a Social Insurance Number
% M) w5 ? c @+ t: N% P. j# k8 T• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check. q: K/ _! w. r2 ~
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
/ h5 A% e7 }2 X$ d8 B0 ?6 E3 b" `• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time
) _0 N, q% }7 K' C/ {program6 o a5 n( v t( y0 U
Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
2 I1 F) ^) ~$ x2 o% z6 ?the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:. R+ ~3 @* |* q4 A% v
• be unemployed or underemployed.
