A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.: L% x% _. _7 F1 p$ r6 r0 v
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and
' h$ {; N3 e+ t& cknowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.: ?7 F6 n N0 B/ G- T1 w
The program includes the following elements:
+ a+ W; n. i2 g6 [( Z4 s) P• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
+ W3 i$ Z4 `. ?3 B3 B4 o1 m8 |* H5 a• Standard Child Care First Aid
3 O) e% Z3 m0 P$ z• WHMIS
6 b( Z+ [+ p/ o) k5 [/ p• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care# g4 v2 V# _ \/ S% L
• Components to improve communication skills; c' d8 ^6 J0 G0 @# e
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

Eligibility Criteria, ?3 X! }4 ~* A8 e8 w
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
5 s3 W5 f# V1 h* ]' L+ P; Yof Canada) R+ e8 c2 P+ Y; Y/ ^' A& m
• have a Social Insurance Number
2 O# J; X2 j& a7 @. v) \• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check. `& C, a0 f. T1 W8 N) }
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
& Y- H' w" L$ ^2 O# Z" q g• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

E2 Q; ~! p! Y1 K' p H4 n9 z& A$ @Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
; z( ~' L- W- b; L/ x5 F' @/ xthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
