A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.7 v0 C' ^ \2 K
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and- A/ e4 y$ [/ i1 i0 \- U4 s% u
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.
+ \4 Z* s' w! F/ o# D/ b0 wThe program includes the following elements:( a- \8 D9 h* S1 T. k/ N$ c
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1), F2 ^$ f% \( Q9 H6 R1 G9 P
• Standard Child Care First Aid3 z- T2 X& h( P. f# x# Y# B
• WHMIS$ y% \3 @' G- ^$ [/ }* Q
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
& {. q4 B) A3 F• Components to improve communication skills
. Y3 ^* v$ i8 a/ v• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search
) O, |1 k) ]1 `$ J• Practicum Placements) {# \- H4 w# q! X S
Eligibility Criteria
7 i, Z! A' |3 S y: l/ S• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen2 d+ x& X- q' U" ?
of Canada
+ s9 p- R; ~6 f% O! y% Y/ Q• have a Social Insurance Number( A0 {8 P8 l& S; W
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check% `1 n1 r# t8 R! n, x" [
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent% b: Z9 O. G7 N9 y2 o
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

7 O- \) h. O6 T' ?Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet

They CANNOT quit their job to take the course9 J- C) n9 _7 u$ K% f
• meet the financial eligibility criteria
