A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.! H/ y! [7 [% X8 u- l( ~1 }
The program includes the following elements:0 V& ]+ h$ k+ t+ Z$ d
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
" k. |' W' h/ t; t. l) ^• Standard Child Care First Aid
G+ \( \9 b m% R& D% i7 D• WHMIS
0 v+ W M) \5 D: A" I• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
2 ?. H A% \/ g3 q• Components to improve communication skills" O2 g L& X% o% }; `4 G+ r
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search, \- R4 Q8 x) B) A' y! z- l* O
• Practicum Placements- m0 O4 Z5 a7 N1 X, f5 t
Eligibility Criteria
9 `% p9 ~! k7 m" W8 ~9 a: M/ R• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen0 z, Z! o* g+ p+ s
of Canada
/ T" p. v% ^3 d& N, z) h• have a Social Insurance Number# E9 [- S$ s% T+ J
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
! y* v* c4 J2 p I3 H• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent, y& e+ m3 o% E- F
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet p+ R' R8 ^. \) l! \" i; a% k1 e
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above: [. G4 R' l' w
• be unemployed or underemployed. _ X4 a6 U8 {$ @( |8 o
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course1 z; l9 N( F t
• meet the financial eligibility criteria: w& S: `8 {0 G9 L6 m- q& H1 ]
