' z4 M& b7 A6 s' s/ B K- p * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
) ]$ V0 y3 f7 R* U9 l8 r * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography, r! J1 [& }7 D& g( Y
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
0 D7 A( j/ h ~/ y * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client# u0 V* G9 L* q' k- r6 k
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry* p9 _( s4 ]4 S5 F! Z
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals6 r z4 O, C- [9 y7 y
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab# G+ H2 S$ s) z' O5 j, p
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices: Y, [2 c0 B5 b8 |& y! L* D. u
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)( P+ o8 Y1 i$ M$ U! P/ K7 K4 c" b/ C

& x1 S4 l# C" c) z( @$ | * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred& d" k8 ^3 H r: B
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
& p" l9 Y( ?) X# O * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
* x6 u$ ?) w7 D! M u7 \ * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures# n1 D0 {+ ? p. u) N1 _
* Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment
