* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis: T8 t: c- g, [2 I- i5 q
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography+ o+ D* z$ K9 A7 s- z* }
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
: N- x' A* G- D9 `2 _/ K * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
: f- C/ J* v/ H! y1 j: O" r * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry, b/ ?2 B: I, U* |, H
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals
1 p! G& j. @- H* c * Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab0 \& J" s3 N4 g) b# Z4 a
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices0 S7 L* W- P: ^# e* l p' f
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)3 k1 R& ~$ ?( g7 z9 U

Qualifications
; `8 e0 r) \- \0 l/ l* i
' O( U; A% U5 O# C * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred* _2 a o4 e( H/ P* x w
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)$ n" u4 @ F# k9 f5 v, g$ X- M7 Z
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel+ x0 `. b8 }: ^- o8 ~
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
