$ C8 j# V1 U) S, F9 ^& g/ s * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis+ h) a& J6 k9 T, v' l
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography4 U) ~$ Z2 M' ~8 X$ o% O
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
1 |& i& n) Q: ~; ~5 l; s$ H" L * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client

* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals* D5 u7 y/ N9 _
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab) G$ x' U. y+ M; U) |
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices0 P8 e+ D w4 ^3 _' ?: l
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)7 _- W, ~( ?% |! y: z& w

* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred5 E1 v; n0 n+ E" G9 q6 [9 l
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)( r& B+ L* F# T! m% c- i3 k- E
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
% T1 v8 }2 z% f9 e8 Y' b * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures2 h9 \7 U, U! K' A' i4 K
