' z4 M& b7 A6 s' s/ B  K- p    * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
) ]$ V0 y3 f7 R* U9 l8 r    * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
    * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
0 D7 A( j/ h  ~/ y    * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
    * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
    * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals
    * Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab
    * Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
    * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

& x1 S4 l# C" c) z( @$ |    * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
    * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
& p" l9 Y( ?) X# O    * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
* x6 u$ ?) w7 D! M  u7 \    * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
    * Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment
