Responsibilities include:

" Q8 T4 y+ F, ? p) t p1. Chemical list and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s)
; M, M0 X$ c( |: q4 A1 T4 t& _/ O/ y• help complete up-to-date chemical lists for all laboratories within the department
7 @. i- i( }. Z• collect and obtain MSDS’s for all chemicals- f, u; I+ {$ }, z! [ k
• make sure all chemicals are properly labelled and stored1 u6 ?7 l+ \: Z0 ?
• proper disposal of all unwanted chemicals
5 h" C6 g+ P+ v; k) h2 a+ o• finalize chemical lists and then duplicate and label all MSDS’s for distribution to OH&S for the MSDS on line system.9 l5 {: i3 h7 o% r3 K( R/ D( C
% z9 J' f$ }. z* U" m2. Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and Hazard Assessments (HA’s)2 x" [7 z5 i, A7 o% G' I
• help update the department SOP’s and HA’s. This will include verification of existing SOP’s and HA’s and tracking any that are needed.

4 }* a' l3 \) T+ w8 W• help develop a tracking system for adding or removal of chemicals as well as continual updating and verification of SOP’s and HA’s

This is a two-month summer position, preferably commencing the middle of June, which will pay an hourly wage commensurate with education and experience. Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening.
