A Poem Dedicated to the last 150 years of this planet.

- x- N% K; l; lWhen we were called the Sick Man of Asia, we were the Yellow Peril.
When we are billed to be the next Superpower, we are a threat.
5 A7 c- a% E4 C( A0 K
When we closed our doors, you smuggled drugs to our markets.
1 l- Y) d- p( i! d* E2 wWhen we embraced Free Trade, you blame us for taking away your jobs.

When we were falling apart, you marched in your troops and wanted your “fair share”.
& V9 Q$ P( x0 q0 @* m, }When we were putting the broken pieces together again, “Free Tibet” you scream, “it was an invasion!”

So, we tried communism, you hated us for being communists
" x+ t2 @1 V- K, qWhen we embraced capitalism, you hate us for being capitalists.

When we have a billion people, you said we were destroying the planet.
When we tried limiting our numbers, you said it is human rights abuse.

9 V) T- b2 g; P$ P0 f/ FWhen we were poor, you thought we were dogs.
When we loan you cash, you blame us for your debts.
( y, j# w' P6 p$ i( g4 S% z: m  {2 q. k
! |0 ^- m9 T5 NWhen we build our industries, you called us polluters.
When we sell you goods, you blame us for global warming.

) ~* _! `  a0 ]) F! p# EWhen we buy oil, you call that exploitation and genocide.
/ t+ T+ F4 z5 T; u- h: tWhen you fight for oil, you call that liberation and democracy.
( @! ?8 i( P- ~, i' N
9 Z1 C- b" Y* k1 J+ x' rWhen we were lost in chaos and rampage, you wanted rule of law for us.
+ }( l  d: f8 XWhen we uphold law and order against violence, you call that violating human rights.

/ t" m% e  ?/ U; |  {$ _When we were silent, you said you want us to have free speech.
/ i! Z! y: F4 ?2 e" m+ s+ b8 KWhen we were silent no more, you say we are brainwashed racists.

1 b+ G4 u' s3 F& \. D% j1 P% LWhy do you hate us so much? We asked.
“No,” you answered, “We don’t hate You.”

8 n2 b' G1 T( v2 U+ MWe don’t hate you either,
3 H# @& ~6 b# _8 ~- jBut do you understand us?

“Of course we do,” You said,

What do you really want from us?
Think hard first, then answer…

Enough is enough, enough Hypocrisy for this one world.
