Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) at ASSIST Community Services Centre is currently seeking flexible individual to fill the following two positions:

(Full time: 35 hours per week)

-        answer multi-line phone calls professionally, politely and directing the calls correctly.
3 R$ y' q1 k* r9 w  ]6 r: ~, U-        assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker
-        reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

Qualifications:
-        post secondary diploma
1 s  N7 K* `. c. B$ D0 x-        customer service and office clerical experiences
+ j8 N1 J4 s: r3 U3 g1 |-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset

Position title: Community Development Worker
(Full time: 35 hours per week)
+ r5 B& T* f' k) C# fJob Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
- E- o. K) s% N1 w2 t/ W" t& a-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
! i3 W2 q1 v, W" [; m8 ~-        update ASSIST website
5 K9 ^% W. U' \$ C$ H  Y+ ?-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
$ @" n) M7 o( z9 w9 D3 l-        assist in writing proposal for ISP
" j% J/ ~/ {: c9 Z4 R, I-        write quarterly and final reports for ISP
' p4 W: F* D7 B  S-        hold regular meetings with ISP team
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
; P" A, h0 w( a. I  J! g- b$ M-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
1 ]8 ^0 w0 t+ C& }: \0 L7 o-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
