Job Description

- reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

Qualifications:

- customer service and office clerical experiences2 k" d4 y$ b( @
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset

Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
! M4 ~& J! T1 n2 o9 j7 K7 z- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
: h& S% l0 [$ r& x- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
; z3 |; D* p+ r- y, t: [- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies. e5 u/ W( p/ z8 _
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
- H6 q+ U* O& D! |- update ASSIST website6 t/ Q' q! D! C" W' K( y
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre) H9 R3 h+ |4 v0 Q
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services% n3 d' a: p' H
- assist in writing proposal for ISP w. Y& o2 d* F1 Y; V
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

5 Q, D: s% a( g! I- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)! F( v" A) A" z

& ]4 j E3 V& B' k* ?! j; r- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
( q! j; S$ h' x- ?. h& \0 }- good oral and written Chinese and English skills4 d9 U. L3 q$ ~3 p9 f
- experience in community work and immigrant services
