Position title: Community Development Worker

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- coordinate good will activities& X: B& m, N% J- t. \ F- z8 u3 ^
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- prepare and send AGM information to members

- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- assist in writing proposal for ISP4 `; b- K) w& Y" h% N
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP! P+ T R' }& k
- explore new ideas for ISP
; t4 o4 e9 |9 j7 y* @- hold regular meetings with ISP team
. T6 o. f7 q; M- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time* m( N1 d% S+ M) P* T
- update membership database

$ b( |; \8 _" N/ x, u( @- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
/ ~8 F4 i e% i: \0 T- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
5 c! J1 ] S5 |6 Q- Y# g- S; Q0 e- experience in community work and immigrant services
- ?6 x; l( h3 g- p0 B a# d- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
* S9 `" r, G3 C% ~# m! p3 ]- leadership skills
- i& v" }6 {6 v- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
