DPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. ) H! K4 `( x5 t" b* g0 |; v* {

- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services7 V( [; [. N8 G2 ~0 r; T
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
* X+ ~, T! \* N+ ^ t, B- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members$ W: E. w% o6 ^1 A5 E
- submit information for community news

- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.; q; j% X) T% V7 Z6 u0 k
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities! e) n8 j) z+ \9 F8 P/ t
- update ASSIST website' Z0 a$ {& i2 h; r# Z. \1 p6 P
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre; A- [$ r* f k5 z9 s! h
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

- write quarterly and final reports for ISP: [$ g) T4 e! h1 o
- explore new ideas for ISP

- update membership database

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 5 }6 f% L/ [, m- p4 H
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
