Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities5 o) _ n% c2 a" i; x8 D" r! T
- submit information for community news 8 k1 k! X2 f6 e% l2 ]
- provide volunteers to update membership database
) y- b" m& H: _1 X- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers4 _9 {( p( ~+ i
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
* ~5 e) @0 _; Z, W+ ?- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties2 z5 [; u1 a7 v/ z# t
- provide volunteers for various programs ; z8 x$ }: i0 g2 A
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual* R: H5 S& e3 \5 U# G& J8 ?7 \
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
) V! @- T$ q/ J2 A- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities) {- x* E \4 G7 v9 Q
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services/ [* |. \+ a/ J
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
z4 a/ ?# R8 ?4 L ]- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
0 x- j/ O% h" |- u3 r, W/ }6 t, ^- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
- }3 ]0 Z3 T: i2 X! T- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)6 q. I& s1 |" e2 b7 P' I
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
" B+ m( C: i6 V; t3 b- development and distribution of a volunteer manual " f; [6 g2 A6 x7 f% B1 x
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
/ m6 ^+ K) S( ?# u- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers

Qualifications
0 y* G! X+ T' U1 x* A- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
* S) m0 V4 d: f; J; H8 I( K' L- good oral and written Chinese and English skills3 `6 ]1 \1 g) g3 h( M0 d1 l
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services0 c6 u P |+ \# p( R
- leadership skills
- S0 E, N# R3 q5 [" Q- T* G2 k- management and supervision skills
1 y' X/ \) v% @( t! X- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills; h; x* i) x# W4 |" s W: x# q) [& s
