Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

- submit information for community news 6 i3 I K& I5 }& e
- provide volunteers to update membership database
+ D v3 ]" _8 X( G% S. k/ {, Q- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers" o* X( n4 @. |4 s( m, _( Z b
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
1 l2 r1 x( j. H5 j5 i- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
5 e0 a, H6 m: @- provide volunteers for various programs
; F5 B+ k( p' w" _6 ^# n0 @; ^- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual6 S, J9 c& p: v
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation- A" J/ X6 J* [- B- f8 y; i/ [
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities7 p/ l) Q% T6 t! t1 d+ B3 N2 Z
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
7 ?6 h) R4 N( i9 m% S2 i- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports$ N0 I$ l( u4 ~
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed! ~+ S% v) J$ B/ T
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed( M$ N8 L- i- l, t
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
1 ^! C( S3 _8 F" L8 d6 k% c- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
/ [4 Q& K8 h- v5 K$ v- development and distribution of a volunteer manual % l* c; x* e( F1 {
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
0 M1 |5 ]- D2 y+ `5 x c/ G- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
; I' j" U6 G0 {- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis ) F+ l) q# ?4 F+ Z! Y
- evaluations

Qualifications' K& \# Q) ^' g
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education! H4 Y# _+ k/ R1 {5 A
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills; I( Z) {2 y' f, S
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services4 S2 K. }/ K$ l6 P5 `0 ` p
- leadership skills
. b$ y1 b( p a% q- management and supervision skills) W1 n' F% J( j) M
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
