Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news
$ g% ~( ^" o) R0 {- provide volunteers to update membership database
, j$ ?/ t: i2 @# _; L4 k- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers! b) Q- V, y U/ }! E
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties' A0 w2 p$ i. Q. {; Q
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties2 }6 J* o b" s& o) M9 g
- provide volunteers for various programs : q% f* X7 f1 {/ d, e: {, g( O" d
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
* p' l: z) G f0 x2 W* S( D$ D- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
1 E5 W4 W% j; p, }6 M- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities$ G/ d, c2 O2 S2 _) N
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
) H, |( V% G" t* I! [% L0 O- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports$ r% T( c6 v1 T+ o
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed B+ q( g+ O& O( n
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed. Y% ^6 c; \# K3 }. z
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
) e h* Y/ y+ ^! H$ L, B- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events / o& }' j) c/ ?$ q% a
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
. i1 ^# @: H+ C/ O' R- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers 5 X' P% B2 }- p/ _0 {
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
) g# O$ [! `1 I& Z& f- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis , }- I7 s6 z1 ~" m' [) o2 z
- evaluations

. t* K, J E; S3 v- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education* v8 R% K7 J- O8 V# r; {
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
* e5 z* [ e9 | ]1 F# { h2 R- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services! o" n9 L# }( I& x* J- |; S% o
- leadership skills2 n2 ~: E3 y6 `/ Y0 M# Y
- management and supervision skills
