My case:

6 d+ g' Z! i6 F( N% ?- X1 W. gI sent an email to CIC buffalo yesterday inquiring about my case and got the reply:
1 `9 K6 S: z8 @5 s1 g; `! z$ t
& H" b) ~6 X, q8 Z* p"We have requested background information from other government
offices(s).  Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing
of your application will be complete.  We cannot respond to requests for
" v4 W/ m  a9 }9 \5 B6 athe status of your application before this information is received."
5 _6 [: i6 i2 ^! E- M1 e
6 j2 U8 V$ d% O& o$ e  w9 e7 C; Q; MDoes this mean I am undergoing background check? Is it a normal BC and security background check(SBC)? Anybody has idea about how long it is gonna take? Thank you!

不用太担心，他们的回复都是同一格式，不代表一定在作背景调查。我也收到过这样的回复，后来request了一个CAIPS NOTES，发现是不知为什么我老婆得Medical Examinaion的结果他们一直没收到。现在我们就要landing了。你也可以request一个CAIPS NOTES，看看到底是怎么回事。

不一定就是背景调查，　也可能是查再加拿大有无犯罪记录什么的，不用担心。
