Edmonton Transit is currently seeking applications for the challenging position of Conventional Transit Operator — for positions starting in Summer 2007. This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.% z7 O6 c0 M% E+ X% N+ _

• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes. _# k S& L3 v- l3 f( |
• Collect proper fare, issue transfers.

* J: Z1 t) C0 A• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather $ u9 ]; z4 ^/ L k% B! l0 ?9 x; G

JOB REQUIREMENTS:$ W( \, T( ~0 s+ M7 f7 I& z
• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.

• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years./ A- ~; L4 c- @5 `
• Selected applicants must pass the Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's class 2 written test, at their own expense, prior to training.- s- M; ^3 `! y- `) L
• Applicant must provide a current driver's abstract (obtained within 14 days of the video test date)
[: ^/ u% \* K1 `7 Q0 ]showing no suspensions and no more than 3 demerits recorded over the previous 2 year period.

• Successful completion of the ETS Training Program.
% H$ H* f2 x3 g" i• Internal ETS applicants must have completed all mandatory in-house training.

Various hours of shift work (straight or split shift), any time of the day, any 5 days of the week
