This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.. Z4 b- |; {1 H/ `& @

• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes.
+ Q, U1 w5 c: s# q/ t* H0 s7 d/ L• Collect proper fare, issue transfers.0 o0 m+ Q3 Q% h' H9 }/ p9 g
• Respond to customer queries concerning transit information.0 L4 b# \5 v, v6 s# r4 L
• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather

3 ~5 G0 a, W, O+ ~- P, g* r: s5 q+ `• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.
; m$ J4 g3 h' c& B( |9 n, z6 z1 n• Proven ability to deal directly with the public, with well-developed customer service skills; the ability 2 p0 ^* L) Z, M, V
to be diplomatic and courteous in dealing with the public, from the first passenger to the last passenger 8 D7 j M2 L% Z* k2 M, N& r
of the day.
$ {0 W: k- k6 w$ D$ c4 c. }: i9 g, }• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (operate bus controls, re-set trolley poles, provide passengers with assistance i.e. strollers, wheelchairs etc.).1 `* j$ g& s6 T( _9 z. S/ a9 j
• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years.

• Applicant must provide a current driver's abstract (obtained within 14 days of the video test date)
5 N, h" L" c1 ^3 w2 [1 ?8 ~showing no suspensions and no more than 3 demerits recorded over the previous 2 year period.
, z! ]3 ~" i# ]2 V$ o5 h4 O* r• Ability to pass a written English comprehension test, a public relations video-test, a driving skill
2 l" V# N% Y# r: u4 ]video-test, a Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test, a pre-employment City medical examination and a Police Security clearance (at their own expense, prior to training).
* l& `, X2 C1 J# g• Successful completion of the ETS Training Program.

Various hours of shift work (straight or split shift), any time of the day, any 5 days of the week
3 Y A7 N. `! Y) m, W1st year: Guaranteed minimum 67.4 hours bi-weekly: p* R* O N( r% v6 k' s
Thereafter: Guaranteed minimum 74 hours biweekly. ]6 I+ C- o: V- g8 b, m6 k8 }4 {8 ~

The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
