5 `! `1 n1 U2 m+ U k6 CPosition Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
+ d2 l/ W* T( |9 Nand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
G- p5 j; V% ~% Tnon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta. The ED
/ t: F* R4 Y. t7 o9 tworks within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
, D6 F3 z5 S, A! z6 e0 X9 a3 L1 j4 q7 Npolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
/ c( a* I1 Y8 [, [4 Z7 ?# daffairs at all times.2 d: i# N4 h+ G" d7 `

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
: w0 g1 p8 t) C" P( nvision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative5 g2 h# _6 ?; }: o
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,8 y: h5 B$ H. k0 W
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
' {1 b8 f' H; H: _" ^0 ]9 Rfor the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
/ j. }0 u c5 J/ c# Lto implement the organizational policies.
6 _3 {% W6 H0 }+ v$ @8 w/ e& W% }& D& V/ g: |7 p' E
PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded0 i. T- o/ |. A2 h
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
* u) D/ v* }! ~# m! Qservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
& S: q/ S7 Q7 _1 D9 Zthe right abilities to help further the organization's mission. - w2 i) k' F8 |) A# ^

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
& D. }# @3 k- z* C6 k9 ~" }development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
7 Q8 j0 S# G; Y( |the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
- ~3 u0 b# k( H( k7 wthat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
, v: u+ y. f4 x) lpayable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
" D4 J% c- D! _+ I+ m! d( jthe organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer. r8 r, c$ b5 ?

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
# a' y; u- N7 g$ P7 [including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government9 `. D. g+ M' |: k
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
3 ?, }4 d; I$ _! ^2 }1 I5 O$ Dorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
3 }4 J o3 o0 C z2 Iwork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
/ \ y) ~7 i1 A: [) m: Bmanaging projects and budgets.

PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
