ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Salary: $12.00 per hour

Position Responsibilities

* y) [* b3 C) M1 _Community Initiatives Documenter
: x$ ]9 i  o. D  l* \/ LThe CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

/ p; c) u( s3 A# V8 G0 {" Q) bEducation Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

% Y4 Z/ ^+ {: m3 [Qualifications:
2 K; ~+ a1 W% i& O' P9 a1.        Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
2.        Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
& L( }! t4 H8 P$ i" u3.        Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
* g  g+ h0 j: V. ]! C# O' b0 E( n& A9 N4.        Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
